I suppose it could have been worse but that is a savage blow. Best player out until the new year.

It could have been a lot worse to be honest.

Like Gibson and Taylor, Wallace is also the kind of player who is prepared to play through pain, and according to Radio Merseyside there is a possibility he will be back a little sooner than stated.

I think Robbo, who has been a little quiet in recent games, needs to pick up the mantle and show some leadership in the coming weeks.

This is a big blow for us as Harrison is not going to replace him very well, would like to see max start but cant see it happening.

Did someone suggest replacing Wallace in midfield with Ash Taylor? Ash Taylor?:shock::shock::shock::shock:

I would like to see Max Power given a chance in the Portsmouth game with Palmer filling the defensive midfield role. Away from home I think we may have to consider switching to five in the middle with Robinson played centrally, particularly in the two away games coming up.

he played there before ...he was a young guy ...he,s still developing, and too good to be on subs imo...

but no ...you won,t give him a second chance there..

I can see some attraction in playing a Palmer-Power combo in central midfield for the home games. From what I've seen, reckon Power might actually be better equipped for the defensive midfield road, though they can interchange.

With a 5-man midfield, presumably O'Hallorhan would be left out and with Stockton already on the bench, I'm unsure that would be the best use of available players.

Big blow regarding Wallace. Even if it ends up being 3-4 weeks, there's a lot of games over the Xmas period. Crucial time. We've had sod all luck with injuries. Just hope we fair better after Xmas. Isn't Akpo due back soon?

I know it won't happen in a million years under Ronnie, but I was thinking about 3-5-2:

Fonners
Taylor Goodison Gibson
Holmes Harrison Palmer Robinson Zoom
Cassidy O'Halloran

Quite attacking. Just a thought.

1. I don't boo the team so don't ****ing go there with me on that one.

2. I have seen Taylor play many times, many more than you I would guess. Whilst I think he is an excellent centre half, and has done really well for us, and I agree he should not be on the bench, in midfield he is not good enough and certainly not good enough to replace Wallace there. Have you seen Taylor's passing range? It doesn't exist. Have you seen him on the ball? he is not comfortable. Yes he can tackle and can ball win but to suggest he could replace a player of the calibre of Wallace is utterly ridiculous. You might as well suggest that Wallace plays centre half when he gets back.

did i say he compared with wallace ?...different player but we would be very solid with him in midfield imo..and lets face it, our form the last couple of months, suggest we are shot.. so time for a change, ash in midfield would get my vote !

Falani had to start somewhere... :cold:

You quite clearly implied that's what you meant. Following this comment

This is a big blow for us as Harrison is not going to replace him very well

you said

ash taylor ,perfect for me ...

So there was more than a strong inference that you saw Ash Taylor as a replacement for Wallace. Are you trying to deny now as you have realised what bull**** you are talking?
