Chris Merrie it is.
Perhaps geography is not his strongest subject. Certainly, his sense of direction isn’t that brilliant on the pitch. They have the potential to be in the mix next season and their manager, whatever our views are of him, is no mug. It would be more of a surprise in terms of geography if Manny ended up in Barrow after indications he wanted to head back down south.
Clearly Micky must rate him and see his potential to give him a long deal and pay compensation to Wigan. He is a Scouser, but I think the main reason he is here is to get more game time. He played only 18 league games (including as a sub) last season. My only reservation is that he is an attacking midfielder but has yet to score a league goal.Merrie joins on a 2 year deal for an undisclosed fee.
An interesting one. He's 34 but didn't make his league debut until he was 25. He started off as a free-scoring winger and still knows where the goal is. He has an excellent pedigree and I'm surprised Morecambe let him go, but maybe we offered better money for once. I rate him as a more than adequate replacement for Manny.Nat knight-percival signed 1 years deal.
