Dont think he was injured although not sure having CBT on while we need to defend is the best option. Under the cosh a bit here. Could be a long 20 mins.

Jennings on for Vaughan. Great battling performance from Vaughan. Looked knackered when he went off.

What is impressive is that at Accrington and tonight they got it back to 1-2 but we held firm

There was some real pressure put on by Blackpool in the second half but we held firm.

Great to hold on for that win, seems that shuffling the pack has paid off for Micky. Hope we can keep it going.

Eyebrow slightly raised. Maybe as RLC alluded to, McCullough cannot do the Saturday/Tuesday gig yet so bringing Manny into a back 3 is maybe enforced to cover for Luke’s absence in the starting XI.
Exactly this. Plus a few others carrying knocks who could not be risked.

Micky probably wants to be sure he can play his 'best' side for the Rochdale and Wimbledon games next week.

Another fantastic effort from the players.

It was a really entertaining game and must have been great for a neutral, played at a great pace, end to end, with both sides having chances, but exhausting for a Tranmere supporter. I thought we edged the game and deserved the victory, for the character we showed in the second half as much as anything else.

I expected Mellon to shuffle the pack today, but I was unsure how the squad players who filled in would cope, and how we would deal with another switch of formation. However, the changes did not seem to have any negative impact, and Perkins and Manny both had decent games, while Ferrier was superb. The involvement of the fringe players must also be great for morale, and is clever psychologically.

The switch to 442 in the second half was also surprising, given the control in midfield that Blackpool had after half time, but I think the change did prevent us from sitting too deep, and after a frantic five or ten minutes after the Blackpool goal, we defended relatively comfortably to see the game out.

All three goals were fantastic: great work from Clarke and Woods and a superb header from Ferrier for the first; great persistence from Ferrier and a sublime finish off the post from Vaughan, for the second; and a superb, left-footed, thirty yard strike from Dewsbury-Hall, which I don't think the defence or Davies could have done much about.

There were good performances all round the pitch, with Clarke and Ellis warriors again, and Morris having a very good game in his best position, the number ten role behind the strikers. However, I thought Ferrier and Vaughan were probably the difference between the teams tonight. The front two caused Blackpool endless problems, Ferrier with his pace and movement, Vaughan with his hold up play and lay-offs, whereas the Blackpool strikers were pretty ineffective.

Long may this incredible run continue.

Brilliant result tonight but don't they make us sweat! 3 away wins on the bounce but in all 3 we have been 2-0 up and have been taken to the wire. It's probably even more amazing that we have won the 3 games without keeping a clean sheet, although their goal was a bit of a worldie tonight.

Apart from the players RLC has singled out I think some credit must go to Monthe and Davies who both look to have recovered from pretty shaky form. Manny has clearly been told to cut out the frills from his game and that he is not Beckenbauer, and he was a lot more effective for it. Scottie made some excellent saves, most notably when they were pressing for an equalizer.

We have at last found some consistency (he says, crossing fingers and blocking out some of the poor performances over the mast few months) and if we go down, it looks like we will do so united and fighting. It has been a bloody weird season and has had more than its fair share of highlights considering we are sat in 21st place; some incredible away wins, last minute (++) comebacks and an FA Cup run. IF we manage to survive it will be interesting to rank that as an achievement against the back to back promotions.

Now we quickly need to learn to play on our own (cabbage) patch ...
