If we need keep possession better in the second half should get Nolan on.

Bit sloppy at times and the defence do look a bit fragile but they have coped relatively well. We really need Davies and Turnbull to shure up the defence but it is what it is at the moment. Not that convinced with Byrne but Jameson has played well and Bristow looks decent on the left.

We could do with testing the keeper more in the second half but we have definately grew into the game.

Hope that we can take something from this, though sounds like the hosts are having the bulk of the chances. Not much attacking play coming from our wing-backs?

From the commentatory, it sounds like we have had as many clear cut chances as them. Bristow is having a good game apparently.

Good positive start from Rovers after the break. Cogley getting in another tricky cross, defended for a corner. Comes to nothing.

We concede from a corner. It sounded like we were comfortable as well.

Damn. Mansfield score from a corner. Poor defending. Now we need to start attacking.

Another set piece has cost us like Stevenages winner last week. Need some experience and actual dominant aerial ability at the back

Yes, balls in the air are a problem.

Only stats but BBC info tells a story

Mansfield shots 9 versus our 2
On target Mansfield 5 versus our 1

Now we are 1-0 down, we need to see more attacking play, maybe take some risks!

In terms of clear chances, I think it has been fairly even.

They were always going to have a lot of the ball and dominate for periods.

Big question marks over recruitment in that area. Aerial ability for centre halves is a staple requirement in league two. We’ve signed Byrne, Jameson and Robinson (albeit the latter can play full back), and it’s not working. Ok we’re missing turnbull but none of those 3 signings sound that dominant in the air. Might sound harsh but is it any wonder Hartlepool and Oldham fans weren’t too concerned about Byrne and Jameson leaving them?

It sounds like Jameson has done well in the air today, and both Turnbull and Davies are dominant aerially. Hockenhull is also decent aerially.

It is just unfortunate that a raft of defenders are injured.

Sounded like no call from Doohan leading to Byrne taking the safe option and conceding from the corner, when we switched off.

If true then it’s another example of lack of leadership and being vocal. Would that have happened with Murphy in goal? A daft question I guess as we’ll never know

Bristow with a decent cross right into the centre of the box. No-one on the end of it. We had Lewis, Nevitt and Hemmings all standing there.

Ohh, Bristow heads it down from a Cogley cross, good save by the keeper. Corner..
