Sounded like a terrific performance, with Rovers dominating the game, hitting the woodwork twice in addition to the goals: Stockton great; Gibson and Kay coping well at the back; new signings improved.

Not a result many people were expecting, and great credit on the players.

Roll on Saturday and round two.

2nd round draw is tomrrow on SSN about half 12, lets get a good draw and not a bradford or something....

A great start to the season, nothing like a win to kick us off...

great result with such a makeshift team..

roll on Saturday , won,t be there unfortunately but good luck to the lads...

Chesterfield

Great result. It always helps to have quality in midfield with Wallace and Robinson. Nice to see Stockton scored and a great winning goal. Credit to Ronnie for getting the subs on to give them fresh legs. Gibson looks to be pretty experienced for a 19 year old. Had a couple of spells out on loan last year so he knows what to expect at our level. I imagine he was the first guy offered and Ronnie was pleased to accept him. I never understand Liverpool's unwillingness to give their young guys experience without them having to go too far. The likes of Wisdom or Sama would have benefitted from a gig at Rovers but their loss I say. Go the Rovers!!

A very good result indeed sounded a pretty decent performance a good start to the season puts people in a confident mood for saturday

A makeshift centre-back partnership of a full-back and a complete stranger; a young striker making his debut; so many injuries and international calls that we didn't even have enough players to fill the bench.

Full credit to tea for two and Higgy for predicting a win against all the odds. Full credit to the lads for a superb result. Full credit to Ronnie for whatever he put in their tea.

The two Chesterfield away games were pivotal last season. In the JPT we lost after leading twice and it then all started to go wrong. In the league we lost what was Les's last match in charge. Let's hope this is an omen and we can kick on from here.

Echo what's been said already. A good result in difficult circumstances and first goals for the club from Cole Stockton and Bell-Baggie. Well done lads!

league and cup double still on

a good win for the rovers and it sounded like they played very well so they should against a league two side.Cole Stockton scored a good goal and maybe if he did get a few game in the side he would score a few so with Jake Cassidy back and available for Saturday it gives Ronnie a nice little team selection.lets hope for a nice home draw in round 2.

Iteresting to see Gibson has had loans elsewhere. So in comparison to Vaulks he is experienced, which might be Ronnies point - especially in such a pivotal role and without other regulars guys such as Goodi at the back.
Had a feeling we would win - 100% record for Rovers and me:)

Well done to Michael Kay ,deserves more opportunities now.. (especially if DH starts his non league habits again..!or his whally agent !)

MK,s nick name has to be "Melchett" from the TV series Black adder !!!!
