They have got terrible injuries at the moment, so it seems harsh on Cooper. Vince has been very loyal to Cooper in the past, so certainly a surprise.

Probably more bad news for us unfortunately, so we really do need to win some games.

yes the new manager bounce may give them a lift. They don’t play midweek but host Scunthorpe next Saturday

Agree with this, though Vince has got form for similar, sacking their manager and they went on to make the NL play-offs (and lose) with a caretaker boss and Cooper waiting in the wings.

Four loses on the bounce, no win in six, they couldn't get much worse recently. I wonder if they will improve if they are still missing key players?

For all his environmental leanings Vince is like any other club owner - hire and fire! BTW, who actually supports FGR? Given their short history at any sort of senior level, are they fans who have defected from other Clubs? People who cannot be bothered traveling a certain distance for a game or what? Just out of interest, does anyone have a view? I know we can all joke and say - anyone who likes a vegie burger - but seriously.

They have been getting crowds of 1,000 or so in non league football for about twenty years, so they are a more substantial club than 'shells' like Salford or Crawley.

I think a lot of their more recent support comes from the Stroud area of Gloucestershire. There are no Premier League clubs nearby, and relatively few Championship clubs, so I think the majority are genuine new recruits rather than interlopers from other clubs.

The season-ending injury to Matt has been probably as significant to FGR as us losing Vaughan and think there also sold one of their better players in the transfer window, so a bit thin up front. However maybe the new caretaker boss will try something different in the way Dawes/Parky did after Jacko, though hopefully it won't work as well.

In respect to Drwhoman's post, agree with RLC above. Vince has used the club as an advert for his business, changed club colours, but most of the fans have put up with it. While I'm not keen on how he's gone about it, their supporters along with Maidstone's are amongst the nicest I've met in the Trust Tent.

I see Vince is talking about appointing a female Manager. Personally I have no problem if they are good enough but great PR for Vince. Would get him lots of free advertising! The first female Manager in England!

Frankly, I've given up trying to analyse and predict Rovers results. After sixty years, maybe I should have got the message earlier. So my strategy now is the naive gambler's double or quits. I am predicting a win on the basis one will come eventually. ;)

This side is certainly good enough to go up automatically despite the temporary loss of three key players. They may not have a specialist goalscorer on form, but there are enough experienced players in the side who know where the goal is and can normally be relied upon to chip in with several goals over a season. It has now become a question of confidence and pressure. Fortunately, most of our rivals have similar problems, so we are not out of contention yet.

Yeah, that is what is saving us at the moment. My fear is that Bolton will continue to march on and FGR might be rejuvenated under a new manager. We have to win tonight if we are still hoping for automatics.

if we don,t win could MP go back to Daws and parky.to see if they can spark something, just a thought KH has a contract till the season end and will only get next season only if we go up and that's what MP said when Hill took over

If Keith gets us up, he’ll certainly be offered a deal, possibly a year-long rolling contract. If we make the playoffs but fail to get promoted, he might still get a second season. But if we finish below seventh, I think it would be very difficult to justify to the supporters that he should get another chance.

Personally, I think we will make at least the playoffs. If so, it will be the usual lottery, although our experience in the Pizza Cup final would help if we got to Wembley again.

MP said in his interview when KH got the job if we go up his contract will auto-renew, so it is in KH,s interest to get us up

hopefully it won’t happen but it will be interesting if we don’t go up whether Hill stays for another year. He could quite easily point to the loss of Vaughan and Scottie as mitigating circumstances, plus spearing too if he misses more games. Losing the majority of a teams spine would cause any team problems, regardless of who is the manager

that said, he could be blamed for the inadequate back up for Vaughan.

My gut feeling is if we made the play offs which is a lottery and didn’t go up, Keith would get another year. Otherwise it’s someone new and possible rebuilding although with the amount of players out of contract that may happen anyway

I think Palios' default position is that Hill will be here next season. Barring an absolute catastrophe, such as missing out on the top seven altogether, I think MP will be very reluctant to make a change.

I would still hope there will be an inquest into the January shambles, as that could be what ultimately costs us promotion. However, I get the feeling that MP himself may have been involved in the Nugent signing.

If we don't make the play offs then for me we should change the manager, if we make them but don't go up I'm tor on whether he should carry on or not.

I think a lot depends on how we actually perform in the next six games. If our current form continues and we go out of the play offs with a whimper, his position might be more vulnerable.

I 100% agree Bigmart if we don't make play offs - personally I would also look elsewhere even we make if we make the play offs and don't go up - though I expect that MP will be reluctant to do that.

Why is that @ADD and @bigmart ? Do you not think KH can do a good job next season?
