Next up we have Stevenage visiting Prenton Park whose poor early season form recently led to the sacking of their former striker Alex Revell. Despite a creditable 2-2 draw away at Rochdale midweek the visitors sit in 21st place in the table. Although struggling they have a goalscorer in Elliot List who has 3 in his last 2 games and 11 so far this season. What we would give for a goalscorer like that however the recent signs of Glatzel and Maynard are providing the SWA with hope we can score more goals. Kieron Morris goal on Tuesday takes him to joint top scorer with Clarke at 3 goals each.

Stevenage away record is one win, 2 draws and 6 defeats so if rovers can get the first goal there is a real chance we can grab another 3 points. That said, the visitors are unbeaten in 3 since Revell was sacked beating MK Dons in extra time in the FA Cup plus a home win v Colchester, before their respectable away point at Spotland. So they have some decent form and it will be interesting whether in between now and Saturday if the visitors have appointed a new manager.

As for rovers team news, assuming no injuries then I expect the same starting eleven as Tuesday. Micky may be tempted to bring Spearing back and as much as I rate Jay, we’ve had 4 points from 6 without him starting and O’Connor has impressed so deserves to keep his place.

Prediction; a narrow rovers win, but it would be nice to get a few goals and a clean sheet.

Micky said there are a couple of niggles so could be the odd change. I'm hopeful of a win 2 0

Stevenage have always come here to niggle and frustrate us and I don't expect Saturday will be any different, despite their change of management. Remaining patient and scoring the first goal will be key and, as Sparky says, Elliott List is the man to keep an eye on.

I would expect an unchanged team, subject to injuries, and I think we will win the game. We have another winnable league game to follow, at Oldham a week on Tuesday, so there is an opportunity to push ourselves back into the promotion race now.

It's probably one of the least inspiring fixtures of the season, with Stevenage a niggly side as RLC suggests and struggle to muster three-figure supporter turnout. Agree List is the main one to watch, but Lines and Andrade have given us problems in the past, although scouser Danny Newton. who got last season's winner at PP has moved on.

Both O'Connor and Foley seemed to take knocks at the end of the midweek game, so maybe those were the niggles referred to, assuming Macdonald's departure was purely tactical and not a smoke and mirrors job. If everyone's fit then sticking with the same starting xi as Bradford makes sense. I would have Nevitt on the bench however, as his battling holding the ball up style might assist if we're trying to protect a lead.

Snow forecast in Yorkshire, so might not make the game, while the Wirral conditions look fairly windy so perhaps not the best spectacle ahead. Think it's likely to be a tight game and I'm fairly hopeful we'll scrape a win to push us up the table.

As of last night ticket sales 4101 with 6 away !!! With strong winds due and niggly opponents nit likely to be a spectacle but crucial we get a win

I should be feeling confident about this and strangely my head says we could win 3-0 with Glatzel, Maynard and Hawkes on target, but my heart is worried Borough may spoil our party. After recent results, both sides will feel confident but the first goal could be crucial as that confidence may be fragile.

baring injuries I too would stick with the same team (nothing against jay) would also like to see nevitt on the bench as he would provide a different alternative to maynard should he still be lacking match fitness, also would still like to him involved to some extent so as not to knock his confidence, as it,s rovers no idea on the outcome

Have to say that this week's pre - match press conference by MM is very interesting despite running to 28 minutes! I think definitely worth a listen for those who haven't done so as of yet.
Also Paul Glatzel inteview is good - comes across as very eloquent and seems very switched on.
Team wise sounds like everyone will be fit despite a few niggles so will be interesting to see if O'Connor keeps his place again - think he should do based on his performance.

Very interesting regarding Glatzel's development in particular.

Glatzel is a very level headed young man who I am sure will have a good career somewhere if not at Liverpool given the competition at that Club with so many international players.

Any news about whether the game will be affected by last nights and ongoing gales? Probably 50/50 whether I make it, if going ahead.

The wind has calmed a bit now, but it is possible there was overnight damage, particularly to the Main Stand.

We are assessing the damage from last night’s storm to see whether it is safe to let the match go ahead. If you are travelling from a distance you may want to delay your departure. We will update as soon as possible #TRFC
