Well Keith always suggests he prefers performances over results and whilst today we didn’t perform too well, the result was all that mattered given this stage of the season.

Still a worry that we created very little in open play, but 3 points all that matters. Won’t get 2 penalties in every game though so must do better but let’s enjoy the victory as people like me thought we had little chance today of winning. Well done rovers. On to Tuesday

Not a pretty performance but an absolutely heroic effort considering we were running on empty today. We looked completely shattered in the second half but the workrate and spirit we showed to see the game out was fantastic. Exeter dominated possession after half time but actually created very little and defensively we were outstanding. Scott did not have a save to make.

I don't think there were many outstanding individuals, but Woolery looked really sharp and gave us an attacking outlet, and played a part in the winner. However, the general spirit and desire shown by the players is what stood out for me today. Hill's substitutions also made a difference, with Lewis more effective as a target man than Nugent. I know our service to Dave was not good, with too many long balls, but he still did not convince me and was not a threat in the eighteen yard box.

I would probably give a collective man of the match to the back four.

Our record in league matches since Vaughan's injury: Played five, won three, drawn one, lost one. Still promotion form and the top three is in our sights.

well talking of birthdays it's mine today and only 1 year from a half-century lol, so I am more than happy with the win if it's ugly who cares a win is a win KH is a managing god if I was a manager I would play Lloyd in the Vaughn role he scores goals he chases the balls down and is a fkn pain in the are for defenders, also get the fk in ROVERS even if we play crap for the remainder of the season and win I don't care

Yes, not pretty at times but they did work tremendously hard and got their rewards eventually. I wasn't too concerned about Exeter as they did very little to trouble our back four and keeper, but the three points were vital at this stage and didn't want to come away with another draw. Anyway, we are still right in the mix and we move on to Tues. Another couple of pens on Tues will be grand

Too many of them after over 50 years!
There are three six-pointer games for those at the top next Saturday. FGR v Notlob, Carlisle v Cambridge, Morecambe v Cheltenham, and on the playoff outskirts Exeter v Salford. Morecambe seem to have a player sent off quite often! Tranmere play Mansfield so everything to play for...

let us hope the goal gives him a boost, but one stat that has got me is the goal today is only his 2 in 64 games that is not what we need

Grateful for the win, whatever it's merits. Maybe not the greatest performance, but the points were vital, particularly with notlob breathing down our necks. The second half subs made a difference. MoM as toss up between Feeney and Woolery for me.

Colchester who we are on Tuesday have not scored in 5 games and only 1 win in 20.

Certainly not a good performance but we battled all the way and got an important 3 points. This is the type of wins you look back on at the end of the season and realise how big a win it is when you go up.

A great result despite the poor but gritty performance today which was mainly down to tiredness I would argue. Although Nugent put his penalty cleanly away he is far too light weight and added nothing to our forward play. I'm not even sure crosses into the box would make much difference to his goal tally, and 2 goals in last 64 appearances, as Bigmart says, suggests we are going to have to look elsewhere for goals. We certainly cannot expect to get penalties every game and without those today we wouldnt have got the win, as apart from facing the spot kicks their keeper had zero shots to save. But scruffy game and 3 points we'll take every day of the week. MOM for me was Jay Spearing for his continual aggression in midfield and for trying to play some football rather than the continuous hoofball.

Good interview with Keith and I just knew he wouldn’t be able to resist mentioning some of the fans comments after the Grimsby game!
