Newport are the next visitors to Prenton Park, as Rovers look to back up two superb away performances with a first home victory in three games.
Our visitors are still in the thick of the promotion race, but their form has tailed off considerably in recent weeks, having topped the table in the autumn. Their downturn in results seems to have coincided with the loss of some key players in January, notably Scott Twine, who I thought was their best player when they beat us at Rodney Parade. However, they still have some decent individuals in the attacking areas, such as Amond, Maynard and Telford.
Of even greater concern to me is their style of play: they are probably the most cynical team in the division, and we can't be sucked in by their gamesmanship if we are going to win three points. I would expect this match will be a scrappy, stop-start affair, similar to the Stevenage game, and we have to keep our composure better than we did in that match. We have to keep the ball on the ground, even if they want to draw us into an ugly game.
In terms of selection, if Vaughan is fit I would expect us to play the same team as Saturday, save for Morris starting ahead of Lloyd. If Vaughan is out, there could be a number of selection and tactical changes.
Prediction: Rovers to edge a tight affair.
