Carlisle a step up from recent opposition. Early days but Vaughan a bit isolated and can’t really get feeney into the game. May be worth putting him wide at some point as his best position is out wide putting crosses in

I almost feel a bit sad seeing Dawes sitting down with Hill up and down doing the talking. Reminds me of the Jacko games

A very tight affair. We have played the better football but Carlisle are well organised and dangerous on the break, probably the best team we have played so far. Hopefully we can nick it.

They are a hard team to break down, Feeney been poor given ball away when in good positions. We can nick it if we move the ball quicker.

Carlisle have certainly done their homework on us and had the best chance so far, good save by Scottie. Agree about Feeney and CBT quiet. Hard to call either side could win it.

Hopefully we don’t concede and have a strong bench to try something different if needed.

Hopefully this is where Hill's experience pays off. Can he exploit any weaknesses in the opposition?

Oh unlucky Rovers, CBT with the shot, keeper made a good save. Didn't look like it went over the line.

Brilliant cross field pass from Clarke sees CBT come inside and fire past the keeper

We’ve conceded quite a few corners and need to be careful as they have some giants in the side

wouldn’t mind Ferrier on at some point to hold the ball up

Woolery and Lloyd on for CBT and Khan. Would still like Ferrier on as the longer the game goes on the more they’ll try and pin us back

A hard earned 3 points. Brilliant defending against a dangerous opponent. I lost count of the number of blocks from Clarke, spearing and others.

We March on.

A fantastic result against a decent team. It was very tight throughout, but I think we played the better football and had more genuine quality and deserved the victory.

It was a complete contrast to a lot of recent games due to the standard of the opposition, but it was good that we stuck to our passing game in the periods when we were struggling to create, and did not resort to long balls, and the defensive performance of the whole team in the second half was excellent.

CBT had a quiet game by his recent standards, but still produced the quality to win us the match in the ten minute spell at the start of the second half. However, as suggested by Sparky, I thought Clarke and Spearing were our men of the match with countless blocks and interceptions.

James Vaughan also deserves a special mention. He was feeding on scraps at times tonight, but some of his hold up play and lay offs were excellent, and he also did great work defensively to help repel their endless long throws and balls into the box.

Onwards and upwards.

A big win that keeps the momentum going. We seemed to get dragged more into a battle as the game wore on instead of getting the ball on the deck and pass it around more.
