Carlisle beating Scunthorpe (our opponents on Saturday) 2-0 and, incredibly, in with a sniff of automatic promotion if they get three points.

Too many of them after over 50 years!
The destiny is under the team's control again. A win against Scunthorpe is vital in my opinion because Bolton have what looks like an easy home game against Harrogate (but it's a strange league this season). Cambridge and Cheltenham look to have harder games. Carlisle could come unstuck at Barrow. Newport away at Mansfield who are draw specialists.

Yeah. We have to be looking for three points against Scunthorpe.

I would expect that at least one team below us, probably Bolton, will go on a run of four or five victories in the remaining games, so we really do have to start winning again now.

I know we have said this before, but the next two matches are winnable and we have to capitalise.

I'm so very wary about these 'winnable' games, we saw what happened at Grimsby and Colchester and not even sure we deserved a win in Cleethorpes. However, we've benefitted from other results to keep us in a good place so far and need to deliver by scoring more goals than our opponents and kill games off.

No game is winnable if you can't score goals. However, if we can find the net again, I would rather be playing Scunthorpe and Walsall in the next two matches than Cheltenham and Cambridge.

Unlike the teams mentioned above, Scunthorpe don't really have anything to play for.

Let's put it another way: we finally have to win a couple of games.

Looking at the results recently, a lot of the clubs around us have drawn or lost winnable games, even Cambridge had a blip. It's why Tranmere are third whilst having a rather poor run in the last 5 games. And Tranmere should really have won on Saturday but for an exceedingly bad decision by the referee. They played well as a team.

They played well as a team in the first half but lacked quality in the second. We need more from them over the 90 minutes if we want success this season.

This is going right down to the wire for the top 3 and play offs. We really need a couple of wins to steady the nerves and to try to out some space between the pack just behind us and at least make sure we make the top 7.

It is basically down to a 7(ish) match season now - the previous 39 are history. All to play for, for a whole raft of teams!

We have already had two extended winning runs this season, the first of eight wins in a row, the second six wins. We know this squad is capable of that kind of form and if we go on a similar run row, promotion is there for us.

Those results were achieved with Vaughan, but hopefully he will play at least some part in the final seven games.

We have Scunthorpe (a), Walsall (a), Salford (h), Bradford C (a), Barrow (h), Forest Green (a) and Colchester (h). While no opponents can be taken for granted, all these games are winnable. The first two are the most promising as neither has anything to play for, the next two are against teams on the fringe of the play-offs but who might have fallen away by the time we play them. Barrow could well be safe before playing us and Colchester's future is likely to have been decided before the last game. The most difficult game on paper is FGR and they will certainly be up for it, but I think that's a decent run-in.

Compare our last few fixtures to any of the other teams in the top half and you will take heart. Unlike them, we won't face Cambridge, Cheltenham, Bolton, Southend or Grimsby again, for which we can be grateful.

What a boost it would be if he was available for the last few games. Any news of his recovery?

I am actually more worried about the Bradford game than FGR, who have completely slumped since the injury to Matt, albeit they may have recovered by the time we play them.

I’m worried about all our games coming up starting with the draw specialist derby v Scunthorpe. On current form it’s optimistic to assume we’ll win that.
