We have already had two extended winning runs this season, the first of eight wins in a row, the second six wins. We know this squad is capable of that kind of form and if we go on a similar run row, promotion is there for us.
Those results were achieved with Vaughan, but hopefully he will play at least some part in the final seven games.
We have Scunthorpe (a), Walsall (a), Salford (h), Bradford C (a), Barrow (h), Forest Green (a) and Colchester (h). While no opponents can be taken for granted, all these games are winnable. The first two are the most promising as neither has anything to play for, the next two are against teams on the fringe of the play-offs but who might have fallen away by the time we play them. Barrow could well be safe before playing us and Colchester's future is likely to have been decided before the last game. The most difficult game on paper is FGR and they will certainly be up for it, but I think that's a decent run-in.
Compare our last few fixtures to any of the other teams in the top half and you will take heart. Unlike them, we won't face Cambridge, Cheltenham, Bolton, Southend or Grimsby again, for which we can be grateful.
