And that's why this is such a beautiful game.. Was expecting the worst but came away having watched a really enjoyable game of football and a great effort from the lads.

Goody was brilliant, the whole defence were solid and were flying to the ground blocking shots. Superb effort. Atkinson was great as was Rowe and Power. Koumas showed some nice touches but didn't think he did a great deal. Akpo and Stockton worked hard up front and was pleased to see Cole get a goal. Nice finish.

Was really pleased with the young lads tonight, thought they were all excellent. Such a better team passing is on the floor and we looked great a times with some really good passing and movement with not much messing around at he back.

My only criticism would be the lack of shots on target, not that it matters now, but we haven't been testing keepers enough.

And to put the icing on the cake we beat Bolton

I don't really agree with Ian about Koumas. I thought he was excellent: all of our best movements came through him in the first half and he dictated the tempo of the game with his passing, short and long range. A major reason why we played football last night was because he was on the ball a lot and the tireless work of the other three midfielders meant he had more time and space than previously.

The narrow midfield without the wide men worked really well and gave the back four much better protection, so it will be interesting to see what syatem we go with on Saturday.

It sounded like a decent game, with Rovers deservedly ahead at h/t and notlob coming more into it thereafter. Let's hope for a decent tie in the next round rather than something like Watford away.

How did Kirby do when he came on? I did feel Ronnie should have filled the bench with members of the youth team, though there didn't seem to be any ill effect having only 4 subs.

Interesting seeing Peterborough hammering a side who were in the Prem last season. While it doesn't excuse our poor showing, maybe "the Posh" were even better than the initial impression.

As RLC says, Saturday's team selection will be intriguing. Realistically, Goodi won't be able to play twice a week for the full season, so presumably we're still looking for a central defensive loan.

I thought he was good. Tidy and had good awareness of people around him, although it is difficult to judge on a one-off cup game when the whole teams is playing well.

All is well with the world for a couple of days, but as Boz states we need a center back pdq - need to be a left sided one ref Ronnie.
Not sure we will be as lucky with under 21 types as per last season with Gibson. Can't remember his name, but the ex Man Utd guy that could play left back/centre half may fit the bill. He looked useful when he did play, albeit dismissed due to disciplinary issues - may be better the devil you know and he might relish a second chance?

Hallelujah! Hope the penny has finally dropped with Ronnie.

Sean McGinty is in the Sheff Utd first team now, so no chance on that score unfortunately.
