Quite surprised Carl has lasted so long as a footballer, remember him as an energetic tough-tackling youngster but a little raw, yet ended up having a successful career north of the border
No disrespect to Carl but the standard in Scotland is not what it was. It might be argued that even the top two are English Championship level. Still, he is obviously highly regarded up there so best of luck to him.

Really pleased for Ollie Banks who plays the full 90 as his barrow side win at Oldham.

Luke Pilling gets a game in goal for Notts County and keeps a clean sheet at Tranmere Old Boys home Stockport

Norburn netted a penalty for Shrews in their win against Franchise but, strangely, didn't take their second spot kick 12 minutes later.

Paul cook in advanced talks for Ipswich job.

Whoever the new owners are they are going to need very deep pockets as the debit is over £100 m unless current owner writes off a lot of it.

They are US investors apparently how already own a club in Phoenix Arizona. Talk of the current owner getting 30m!

On a completely different tack, I see that the Shrewsbury Manager Steve Cotterill is back in hospital after another Covid related episode. A lot of people will be affected by this dreadful virus for a long time, even when we are back in hopefully more normal times.

RIP Ian St John. A footballing legend who played briefly for Rovers at the end of his career. Around the same time as Ron Yeats and Tommy Lawrence. I will always remember his winning goal in the 65 cup final. Usually the only match on TV, unlike today! In black and white and Kenneth Wolstenholme the commentator! They used to have a marching band before the game!
