Wow mani D scores what is surely a last minute extra time winner to help Grimsby meet Wrexham In the national league play offs

Absolutely incredible that. :D

I had a funny feeling he would have a part to play after his recent hat trick,

Yes I was surprised he only came on after 87 minutes given his recent form. Maybe he’s found his level - hopefully he can upstage Mullin et al on Saturday

Stefan Payne.. another high quality signing
understand what you are saying IAN but could it be the case were instead of playing to the players strength THEY have to adapt to our way of playing, thinking of ALIBI from chester who looked like a fish out of water for us, not saying they were good/bad signings but a few strikers here have struggled.

It’s cookies Chesterfield who progress. Gilmour has been in and out of the Halifax’s team but had a decent game.

Sorry to bring back memories of our 2014/15 disaster but Marc Laird has just signed for… wait for it…. Civil Service Strollers!
Sounds like a team of retired public administrators playing walking football. ;)

Actually, they play in the Lowland League in tier five, one below the SFL third division.

Remember Marc Laird having one of the worst debuts I can recall in the season opener with York. He did pick up to the extent that we tried to keep him when dropping out of the FL.

Indeed, albeit generally of a lower standard than tier 6 since the SJFA clubs finally joined the pyramid system en masse. There’ll be a few more Keltys and Bonnyriggs coming through that particular pipeline.

Back to today, Mani starts on the bench again. Despite his heroics in midweek, apparently it was only a late decision by Hurst to have a second striker on the bench at Notts, otherwise Mani would’ve missed that game altogether. Hopefully his luck continues today.

Mullins wins and scored a really soft penalty but Grimsby hit back quickly
