Well, at least we're in the draw for the 3rd round, which may give the game added spice depending on how the draw goes tomorrow.

Sounded like we had the best of the first half and they had the best of the second, although our chances seemed more clear cut. They had one shot on target, whereas Moore, Edds and Gornell all had excellent opportunities only stopped by their keeper making some excellent saves.

Can't help feeling we should have put out a more positive side. Edds Kay & Jennings collectively aren't creative enough in the centre. Would have much preferred 2 up front. Replay isn't a foregone conclusion and we'll be playing a makeshift right-back. Would like the 3rd round tie to be winnable rather than glamourous and preferably played at home.

I generally agree that, if we are to play 3 central midfielders, at least one of them has to have a bit of craft about them. Barnett is the stand out contender for me, but I can have no complaints with going to Posh and drawing 0-0 - a really good scoreline really. We'll be happier with a replay than they will, and hopefully we can take 'em back to Prenton, beat 'em, and pick up a big away day at one of the major prem clubs. I see progression in the competition as pretty pointless, we'll never get to the final so may as well aim to go out to the tune of a big cheque and a memorable day out than at the hands of some average Championship side.

Re: the game today, sounded like we frustrated them pretty well in the first half, and defended well in the second. P'boro are one of my favourite sides in the league this year, and to keep them from scoring on their own patch is very impressive IMO.

Good to be in the draw! And regarding the right back situation, we have Edds, Holmes and the highly rated Johnson on loan from Boro, who I expect might just be every bit as good as Shotts...his last game was against Chelsea so I'm pretty sure he should find his next opponent a bit easier in comparison :-D

Don't disagree with you about the result, but would rather Barnett than Edds if we've got to play 5 in midfield. Johnson will hopefully do a good job in the league @right-back, but we can't play him in the Cup. So I suppose it's going to be Edds. If we'd won already would be hoping for a plum draw. As we haven't and Peterborough are well capable of winning the replay, it would be a huge anticlimax to miss out. Both sides would raise their game, if the winners were away @eg Liverpool. That's why I'd be happy to draw say Barrow at home and hope for a big pay-day later. Anyway, Ronnie doesn't seem too bothered about a fixture pile-up, picking defensive sides for both away Cup games.

Although I'm disappointed to have lost Shotton who has turned out to be one of the best loan signings we've had, I'm confident Edds can do a job at right back. I'd much rather see him at RB than in midfield where i think he's largely ineffective.

I agree with Boz regarding the positive side. I was all up for playing 4-4-2 then Greenacre didn't make it with his back problem and we ended up using the familar 4-5-1, crowding the midfield and making the game less exciting.

Having said that, we had some great chances to win the game, but how many times have we said that!?

A bit disappointing given how much we supposedly dominated the first half but I would have taken a draw before hand. WBA away isnt the most glamorous tie but it could still be good and it is potentially winnable. But we've got to beat the Posh first!

I would like to see Danny Holmes given a chance at right back as he is meant to be quite good.

I went and we were on top all first half... I can't complain with Ronnie going 451 because first half especially it worked a treat. Peterboro didn't have a shot til just before half time and their keeper made good saves from Moore and Edds who really should have buried his chance.

Second half they got on top but give Ronnie credit he saw this and realised he needed to change it so brought Gornell on for Edds to go 442. The rest of the second half was more even and Gornell should have won it with 5 mins to go. Jennings did really well to play it across to Gornell 6 yards out with just the keeper to beat. He needed to hit it 1st time but took a touch which allowed the keeper to close the angle and make the save. Gornell will learn from it though. But I think it was a credit to us to go to Peterboro a good attacking team and I don't really remember Coyne making a save.

As for the draw if we get through WBA away will be a day to look forward to... Could have been better draws but we'll take a good following and if they rest some players then who knows. We have Peterboro to finish off 1st though.

Finally great support from the fans too, some good SWA chants and Shotton recieved a good send off. Shame we have to do without him for this month but i'm confident Johnson will come in and do a good job.

Their keeper made some really good saves to deny our lads. Let's hope we can finish off the job at home. Although it's not the most glamorious tie, WBA away has kinda got me excited.

The replay is going to be on the 9th December and having witnessed the boredom of the 1st round replay - Setanta are not coming back for this one!

Doesn't suprise me it didn't make the tele. Apart from the fact we didn't do much to convince them in 1st round replay the two matches that have been picked have chances of a shock.

Just seen the highlights and really can't believe we failed to take those chances. The keeper made good saves but Moore and Gornell took touches they didn't need when if they'd hit it 1st time they would have probably scored. Edds needed to blast his instead of using his sidefoot.
