Lack of onfield leadership is a valid point, but none of the players recruited by MA really fill that gap, unless Dugdale was meant to. It could be nobody suitable was available or willing to join us. Micky also highlighted the need for a more physically stronger side, yet, particularly in midfield, we remain very lightweight.

It should not be necessary to recruit 'leaders' to avoid what happened on Tuesday. Basic professionalism should tell players they can't defend their own eighteen yard box for 25 minutes, and there was enough experience in the side to cope with a situation like that.

We have got more out of Laird and Odejayi since Adams arrived, in addition to recruiting Dugdale and Thompson at the back, so we should have enough height and physicality to cope at this level. The real deficiency in the squad when Adams was arrived was a lack of skill, and we certainly brought in more skilful players in January.
