I was thinking the other day about past players and what has become of them. This actually came about when I was thinking of kenny Irons whilst walking to the Galpharm Stadium.

Where did Kenny go after Huddersfield?

That then got me thinking about the other players that have left and erm... not gone onto great things.

Koumas (although probably more successful than most)
Nolan
Thomas
Hume (not doing great ATM)
Taylor (has he played for Wigan yet)
Simonsen

and the list goes on...

Taylor is doing very well for himself at Wigan. Was in the England U-21 squad last time the internationals were on and has made a couple of starts and sub appearences.

I do wonder what goes wrong with these players though. It as if they have gone a division too far, and fail at that level. Look at most of those players who still play now, they are playing in the Championship. Hopefully, the next few talents will realise there is no future away from Prenton Park for them

Steve Simonsen and Clint Hill are both plying their trade in the Championship with Stoke.

As is Ian Moore, who is on the books at Leeds United.

George Santos, astonishingly at 35 is still a registered player at QPR.

Cardiff have Jason Koumas on loan from West Brom.

Jason Price is still in the first team at Hull.

Iain Hume (painfully) is now at some stuffy team who like the play-offs, and cup finals.

Danny Coyne, John McGreal and Graham Branch are regulars for Burnley.

Scott Taylor has appeared 11 times already this season for Plymouth.

Adam Proudlock is wearing the number 31 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Andy Robinson is at Swansea.

Richard Hinds is playing for Scunthorpe.

Russell Howarth has made the breakthrough to first team at Bradford.

Simon Osborn (we had him on loan from Wolves) is currently playing for Walsall.

At Chesterfield most of their first team is former Tranmere players, Paul Hall, Wayne Allison, Shane Nicholson and Reuben Hazell.

Eugene Dadi is still utter rubbish, but has a contract that Nottingham Forest now wish they'd never given him. Oh and as I think already mentioned, the now 28 year old Alan Rogers is still there too, in his second spell at the club.

Sean Thornton is at Doncaster.

Andy Parkinson and Gary Jones both first teamers at table-topping and cup upsetting Grimsby.

Dave Challinor and Stuart Barlow are both still at Bury.

Kevin McIntyre and Dave Beresford are at Macclesfield.

That's about all that I can think of at this time of the morning.

Not sure how you can say Ian Nolan didn't go on to great things...

The lad played almost 200 games for Sheff Wed while they were in the Premiership (finishing 7th once). I'm pretty sure he was their player of the year at least once. He also made 20ish appearances for his country. If you think of the big picture, only a small percentage of pro footballers get over 200 games in at the highest level.

Aye, OK we'll forget Nolan then. Nice list BTW NBDH :)

However I was thinking more about the players we didn't want to go. That proabably cuts down the list by about a 3/4. lol
