- Ian Goodison... who else!
I think we've had threads similar to this before, but there's no harm in doing it again based on recent performances. I think mine would be...
Achterberg
Francis Sharps Jackson Goodison
Aiston Rankine McAteer Roberts
Facey Greenacre
Sharps and Jackson I believe are both excellent centre backs, good in the air which is what you need at this level. Francis has proven himself to be a real handful, both defending and going forward. Great tackler, not afraid to get stuck in. I know Goodison is inconsistent, but I like the fact that he tries to be creative and play his way out of trouble rather than just hoofing it away. I think teaming him up with Gareth on the left is a good option. Aiston on the right playing as an out and out winger, our most creative player. Rankine will run and chase down all day and I think Mcateers experience and quality is invaluable. Obviously the only concern here is that both Rankine and Mcateer are getting on a bit. At a push I'd replace either of them with Danny Harrison to give us a bit more ambition in the middle of the park. Facey and Greenacre have proved themselves to be decent, if not consistent goal scorers. At a push I'd maybe play Zola instead of Facey to give us a bit more height.
That's what I think anyway :!:
