The review into football chaired by former Tory Sports Minister Tracey Crouch has been published.
It has several recommendations I am sure most fans would agree with including an independent regulator, a levy on the EPL to support the pyramid, tighter scrutiny on club ownership, protection of club assets and fan representation. It may go the way of all such previous attempts but this might just have legs. The proposal comes from a government MP and - let’s face it - Boris could do worse than implementing it. It couldn’t make him any less popular.
Tracey Crouch will propose an independent regulator for football when she publishes her final report from the fan-led review into the game on Wednesday evening.
