Giving a good account of ourselves here. One down to a penalty right on half time but game is much more even than I expected. Probably about three hundred rovers fans in a crowd of about 1,000 or so.

A two nil defeat but a very good performance by our youngsters. We were a bit unlucky not to draw the game, hitting the post after a great move at one-nil only for Everton to go up the other end and score a second from a corner. We actually dominated the second half, hitting the woodwork again, and some of our football was very good. Everton were better, but there was not anything like the gulf I expected.

Our left back, goalkeeper, centre half wearing number six and Hope Akpan up front were particularly impressive. Very encouraging.

Thanks for the report RLC. Sounds like a decent turnout. What did you make of Clarke the left-back already given a pro deal and the keeper Wharton who is in line for one?

The left back was outstanding, did not realise it was Clarke to be honest ! It makes sense now that you mention it. Keeper was also very good.

Thanks, RLC. For a NL club away to a EPL club, that's a good showing. What a great experience for the lads playing at Goodison Park. Hopefully by the time this generation comes through we'll be in a position where we can afford to give them some proper first-team experience.
