There are several factors at play, the season is like no other eith no fans virtually all season, matches off due to covid an weather, a shortened season. Also, there are no standout sides this season, certainly not compared to 2 seasons ago.

Virtually any team that can out 3 or 4 wins together have decent chance of promotion. Bolton have gone from way down the table to near play offs at least on the back of 3 or 4straight wins.

The most significant single factor is the wage cap, which means the quality of squads is more consistent with no clubs able to massively outspend the rest and hence no teams pulling away at the top of the league (at least not yet).

I wonder how close this is getting to a performance enhancing drug? Perhaps we should impregnate our shirts with EPO? A hundred mile an hour Jay Spearing would be a sight to behold and Peter Clarke would be nailed on for the Euros! If that fails we could at least soak Clarkey's in Sanatogen.
