RLCs record of grounds visited following Rovers is amazing, a dedicated follower of TRFC. Very grateful for the awayday match reports he posts up too. Personally have been to only around half the current FL grounds following Rovers.

I agree with BBTC, there are a few banana skins lurking, particularly for those top end of table clubs who are away to sides near the bottom. Would be surprised if every fixture was won by the higher placed team.

No surprise in the starting xi, Smith doesn’t make the bench with Morris preferred.

1-0 Rovers. Norwood's 28th of the season as he chips it nicely past the keeper after a superb through ball from Perkins.

Colchester trying their best to play down the flanks through the tricky Szmodics, but Rovers holding firm. Rovers growing into the game.

We have not passed it as well as we can but we have stayed compact and defended excellently. Brilliant assist from Perkins for the goal. Need to keep it better in the second half.

Excellent half from Rovers. More solid defending has really nullified Colchester's attacking threat throughout the half. Caprice has been excellent defensively and his pace really making a difference as Colchester trying to push down the left side with Eisa and Mondron plugging away. Rovers not had a great deal of chances but their best chance of the half was put away superbly by Norwood.

Yes, defensively solid but Banks looks a little off the pace and Pringle needs to get involved a bit more too.

A satisfactory half with both defences in control nd few chances. Midfield is scrappy but Perkins is playing with the energy of a 17 year old. McCullough lost the ball, Perkins won it back and ran through before feeding Norwood for a regulation finish. Apart from that, James has hardly had a touch and has been isolated. Colchester look lively on the flanks and that's where the main danger lies.

The impressive Perkins smashes it into the net after a bit of a scramble in the box. Come on Rovers!!

Bit of luck just when you need it to. Colchester free kick palmed away by Davies, hits the bar bounces on the line, hacked away by Tranmere defence. Colchester pushing for a goal now. Harris come on for Banks.

Surprisingly comfortable and thoroughly deserved victory for Rovers. The hosts had a lot of the ball but created little and we were ruthless in both boxes once again.

It's now in our hands now isn't it?
Only seen the first goal.
What a corker Perkins is. He must have the same agent declaring his age as Gooders!
Nice tweets from CU and their fans pre and post match.
Will be some atmosphere next Saturday.

Surprising to hear quite how comfortable this game was, but very happy with the outcome.
