Interesting developments tonight as Luton, who would have been relegated on PPG, escape the bottom three on the final day having been in the relegation zone for months.

At the other end of the table, Brentford have in all honesty bottled promotion in the final two games, after winning eight games in a row and looking favourites to go up a week ago. Reminiscent of our promotion challenges in the second tier in the mid nineties.

However, their progress of the last few seasons has been an incredible achievement for a club of that size.

Brentford move to a new ground next season, they have a very good record of improving players and selling them for big profits.

Relegation is now down to whether Wigan get any of the 12 points back or not.

Agree Brentford did well only to fail at the last. Swansea won't be easy opponents after their last gasp entry into the play-offs.

I hope that Wigan do win their appeal as their situation is partly down to the failings of the EFL to apply a fit and proper owner test. However, that would be hard on Barnsley, perhaps the other arguably more justified points deductions might save them.
