Have sacked the manager Stuart Maynard, who took them back into the FL just a week before their first competitive fixture. The explanation was a difference in the direction the parties thought the club should go.

Very bizarre, although the Ugglas who own the club have form for doing similar. If Scott Lindsay, who almost got Crawley relegated is confirmed as the next manager, even weirder. I’d thought of York as pushing for a play-off spot, but not now.

York have now appointed Lindsay.

He’s an oddity in himself in the sense that his overall track record is mediocre at best, except for working a miracle to turn a basket case into promotion winners. Quite a blip on the cv!

Speculation the Ugglas fell out with Maynard over player recruitment and retention. So I wonder if Lindsay might now offer a deal to their Golden Gloves winner of last season….. the lad who played in goal for us on Friday. As far as I can see York only have only signed a rookie on loan from Fulham for that position, to compete with Male’s understudy.

If they do, I reckon that’ll scupper our chances of signing him. If indeed he’s still a target.

I’m no expert, but if our only keeper McGee is injured and we don’t make any permanent additions with the minimum experience (5 league/proper cup starts?) I think the answer is yes.

Would such an "emergency loan" not just be classed as a "loan" since we are in the window? Mind you it's ridiculous that we should even be discussing this scenario!
