I'm afraid our away form is simply pathetic and is costing us big time, pressure on our home form big time to make the top 7.

We can forget top 3 now it aint happening with our away form

Agreed. We were the better team and had the majority of the second half but yet again lack of goals has cost us and whilst I think we will still make the play-offs, we can kiss goodbye to automatics.

That is a devastating goal to concede late on. Overall we looked the better side but Colchester looked dangerous in our half towards the end so not totally surprising.

Actually I'd disagree about toothless, George made a couple of decent saves and a brilliant one from Nevitt.

Other results didn't go our way either and we face one of the form teams in Carlisle next.

A couple of decent saves says it all.

Maybe toothless was a bit harsh but the likes of Exeter, Northampton etc would have been a couple of goals up before Colchester scored

Even the play offs might be a stretch now. Simply not good enough.very disappointing. We are a top team at home and yet Rovers seem to lack the confidence to control and win games. away from home. Maybe they need a sports psychologist and I am being serious.

I do wonder about our tactics. We’re away at one of the poorest sides in the league who have a terrible home record. First half Hemmings played on the right side often leaving Nevitt the only man in the box. Once again it just looked like we were set up to keep it tight and nick a goal instead of going for it

Played some decent football and showed some commitment BUT totally totally toothless in the final third...Nevitt to his credit tried extremely hard but his lack of experience was exposed. Not sure Hemmings actually broke into a sweat and as a so called experienced goal scorer he's a waste of a shirt...it was like playing with 10 men for most if not all of the game. On the bright side we can now look forward to Stockport, and most probably Wrexham, back at Prenton Park next season. No way are Mansfield not going to overtake us with 3 games in hand and just 1 point behind, not to mention even Swindon with 1 game in hand.
That poor run of 5 matches from Walsall away until Northampton away when we won just 1 point out of a possible 15 was a killer. Simply just too much to make up.

Ok mcpake hasn’t impressed recently but to bring Jolley on wide left didn’t make sense. Put him in the middle alongside Hemmings

Their winning goal was the only effort on target from the hosts. Did we switch off and give the lad too much room, could Murphy have done better with it? A draw would have moved us up the table negative tactics or no. It has been clear from recent away games that we cannot rely on the current defence to get us a result.

Players thought ball had gone out of play got played in to area, unstoppable shot to win it.

Even a draw would not have been good enough, Colchester are a very poor team side if we had anything about us we would have won.

Sparky suggests putting McPake in the middle alongside Hemmings but.....only trouble is....Hemmings spent most of the match hiding out on the right wing...absolute waste of space.

Can’t really criticise the goal. The game should have been over by that point if we had a decent attacking threat

I meant put Jolley alongside Hemmings and mcpake on the left but either way it didn’t work

Tactically again Micky got it badly wrong again, playing Hemmings out wide is a waste of time. There doesn't seem a great deal of logic to me in the change of players and formations just seems a case if hope for the best

Do you think Hemmings decided himself to play wide and deep? Most of us probably think it was idiotic tactics by MM to play our best striker out there whilst letting a novice play up front by himself....

Just watched Micky post match. Clearly identifies the issues we have in the box. A lack of desire or ability to get on the end of things. To be fairs that’s been our problem most of the season. He mentions we had 3 frontmen at the end but two of them were playing wide! Plus two of them (Jolley and Nevitt), aren’t good enough on a regular basis to score enough
