Up next for Rovers, a trip to the PTS Academy Stadium as we take on The Cobblers in a real top of the table clash. Northampton sit 2nd in the league whilst Rovers sit 3rd on the same points. Rovers have not won in four games and are looking to break their poor recent results to get back on track to stay in the automatic places. Northampton will want to cement their position in 2nd with a win against Rovers. Their recent form has not been as bad but it's a bit patchy with 2 draws, 1 win and 1 defeat in the last four. They also play tomorrow night at home to struggling Walsall so may be a few points clear of Rovers when we meet on Saturday (let's hope not!).

Walsall’s results in February make any game involving them unpredictable to say the least. Having beaten the teams sitting in first and second and also getting a good win in their last game against a resurgent Hartlepool, they’ve also lost to the bottom team Scunthorpe, been thumped by Swindon and narrowly lost to Northampton at home. Fingers crossed they can reverse the result v Northampton but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

As much as I would like us to turn our form around I just can’t see it this Saturday. Will Micky make any changes? You would think so as he wasn’t happy after Newport and I think mcpake deserves a game but I can’t see any changes to the back 4. Perhaps foley will come but if glatzel and spearing are still out then he can’t do much.
Whether he sticks with 4-4-2 is also interesting. Hope I’m wrong but all I can see is a home win

Newport & Northampton take early leads in their games. Northampton now only 7 point behind FGR as it stands, 3 in front of us and Newport would be only 1 point behind us if they beat FGR.

The table is incredibly tight as it stands, with only six points separating Rovers in third and Port Vale in ninth, with several clubs below having games in hand. There are a clutch of clubs that will believe they have a chance of automatic promotion, but some of whom won't even make the play offs.

Perm 7 from 10 or even 11.

78 points for automatic ; 74 for 7th place?

Decent set of results overall albeit Bristol rovers continue their good form.

None of it really matters of course unless we can turn our form around. Walsall’s point at Sixfields May give us some hope for Saturday of avoiding defeat

A good set of results, with only Bristol Rovers winning of the challengers.

Promotion is still there for us, if only we can get a win very quickly. Exeter and Mansfield have lots of games in hand, but crucially we play them both at home.
