Watson must be a player who is improving with age or has been playing in more advances positions as his goal tally has really improved in the last couple of years. Very positive signing.

I often thought Rides would see his career out here. He is the longest serving player by far and was with us under Ronnie in League One before the great slide. He’s been around so long that he has almost earned a testimonial. However, he is still worth first team league football and I’m sure he’ll get a two year deal on decent money. Thanks and good luck.

Think he had 8 years at the club, Davies has had 6

Liam travelled in from Yorkshire for training or matches, he has been like us through the bad times and the good times, I remember him in tears, after getting sent off at Wembley. He was a model pro and he was so reliable and made the left back position his own. I did believe he wanted to spend the rest of his career with us, he really wanted a testimonial! If he was offered another one year contract, I wonder why he turned it down? He was a vital player for our success getting back in the league.

Best of luck, Rides!

Also with rides he only turned 30 a couple of months ago so far from past his best. A footballers career is short and I’d be surprised if mickey didn’t offer him at least a one year deal but he may have had a 2 year deal offered elsewhere (rumoured to be Bradford which would be closer to home and inevitably see him put crosses onto cookies head).

He will have been offered more money and likely be 1st choice elsewhere while he would be back up on 1 year deal here

I think it's more likely to be a question of geography, money and contract length that have helped him reach the decision. Had Liam stayed, I'm not sure that he would have been automatic second choice to Macdonald.

It came as a surprise to me learning earlier this year that Liam still lived over here and commuted in, would have thought he'd moved to Merseyside when signing permanently for Rovers.

I think Ridehalgh would have played second fiddle to Macdonald next season, and that will have contributed to his decision.

I agree with the sentiments above. A great servant to the club and I wish him well for the future.

As said above Davies is now our longest serving payer and the only one remaining from our non-league days. Now Nelson, Monthe and Ellis have left, only Morris remains from our first season back. The rest have only been with us two seasons or less. Quite a turnover. I think it's a reflection of the continual movement between divisions. The club wants better players and the better players are ambitious to get the best deal.

It seems Woolery is going to Motherwell. I think that is a loss, but not a huge surprise given his demeanour towards the end of the season.

Yes it a loss but not one to lose any sleep over. Suspect he was on a decent wage so frees up someone else. Suspect he’ll have a year or two up there and then come back so to England I think

That is a shame, Kaiyne did well in the first part of the season and his pace always meant he could cause problems.

Yes, the biggest loss will be his pace, which is not easy to replace at this level.

Disappointing he has left as early on he was very good although as the season wore on he faded like a number of players.

It will be interesting who we can bring in in the forward positions as this will be the key to our prospects for the season

he was good playing with an old head in James V, but wow did he suffer when he was not in the team, the fact he has never played more than 10 or 12 games in a row and only got to double figures once his pace will be a loss but we need better than a 7 or 11 goals a season forward, at least we now know we will prob be 3 new forwards coming in going to get interesting

No surprise he’s gone as he’s got a 3 year deal up there which isn’t that common these days.
