One of the many things Hill could have tried during this poor run is playing Khan further forward again. In a side that is struggling to create and score goals, it is strange to use one of your most creative players (and a reasonable goal threat) at full back, even if he has adapted to that position.

At least Hill acknowledged that tactical change is needed. We will see the extent of that change on Saturday.

yes I’ve thought this recently about Khan. We’ve had a ready made RB in OConnor so put him there and give Otis a go further forward as we’ve clearly been lacking in forward areas so it’s worth a shot just to try something different

I totally agree but in his latest interview Hill is adamant that he sees O'Connor's future career as a midfielder and Khan's as a fullback. So its difficult to see Hill accepting he's got this wrong and switching one or both player back to their original position.

The trouble is that Jay is suspended tomorrow so Lee will probably have to play in midfield.

Cheltenham lose 1-0 at Crawley. While our prospects of catching them are minimal, it's still good if they are needing points against Newport in the penultimate game of the season, given the Exiles are a rival for a play-off spot.

It is so frustrating.

There has been very little consistency in the division this season and if we had been even average in the last nine games, as opposed to hopeless, we would be going up automatically.

If you look at the form now, the teams at the top and bottom have been fairly inconsistent but there is a danger group who are still capable of getting into the playoffs and have all to play for. Teams such as Carlisle, Crawley, Salford, Orient and Bradford. All tricky customers. I don't have a good feeling about tomorrow.

Yes, true. Even our play off place is far from secure.

I think Bolton will win the league.

Depressing.

Palios' notes in today's programme:

'There is no glossing over the fact that we have failed to capitalise on a strong position, culminating in the defeat at Walsall'.

The tone does not suggest to me that he is satisfied with the manager's performance.

Not the line-up I'd have gone for, Crawford ditched totally and still no place on the bench for Burton/Jolley.

I've changed to the away commentary and can still hear the whinges of Higgins! I wish someone would explain to him he doesn't have to yell into a microphone!!
