Too many of them after over 50 years!
*an extra 3 points would have us in the promotion spots now."

If Cambridge had played two games fewer, Tranmere would be in the automatic places just now. The form tables for last 6, 8 and 10 matches show that Tranmere are at 2 plus points per game. In the last 12 games, Tranmere have more points than any other team. So all is positive at present. I keep an eye on the soccer stats site.

I think he needs to be careful with some of the comments he is making, as he seems to mention the fans in a negative context after every match now.

When fans are back in the ground that could result in antagonism, particularly if form takes a dip which it will do at some stage. Mellon was an expert at keeping the supporters on side, which saw him through his difficult spells.

I don't know why he does not just ignore the idiotic comments on Twitter, which every club gets.

I agree, it seems a strong way to try to build a relationship with the fans

In all of his interviews Hill, despite downplaying emotions, comes across as being highly sensitive to any criticism, real or perceived. He should realise he is in a results based industry and failure to deliver results will, rightly or wrongly, generate a level of criticism. He's got to learn to live with it, by just ignoring it, or get a less stressful job. When fans give up on their emotions, of whatever shade, then the game is finished. Our love for this club is a passion, we have all shared the roller-coaster ride of emotions over many years and these emotions, ecstasy and disappointment, should not be derided.

I have a different take on his feedback. To me he looks to be trying to educate all those who only ever criticise (whinge about!) a loss but never praise a win. There's a couple of fan sites where that is the case. So as far as it is a results game, it is also impossible to be perfect, and that what is needed is a certain amount of wins to compensate for the inevitable losses . Also, one loss and a bad performance isn't the end of the world because the next game will be different.

in my experience , this site has the most level headed feedback on performances of all the sites I have visited, even when there is disagreement (for the most part ;0)

Anyway, emotion is part and parcel of a game. Praising his players is to do with emotion.

And there was some real vitriol when he was first appointed, which was uncalled for. everyone deserves a chance.

He seems to want to live in a world 20 years ago when there was no social media or forums as such. We are where we are, and he has to be able to deal with the comments after a loss. Granted most of it on social media is horrendous and well OTT after we get beat but it's not going away. You are only as good as your last game in football. You can go 10 games unbeaten, then lose a game and the OTT reactions to that one defeat are laughable.

He just needs to ignore it as I do think it's effecting his interviews to a degree. I hope when we win on Sunday he has a smile on his face! :D

Keith Hill is an experienced manager, but old school and probably not social media savvy. In fairness, the manager's job was difficult enough before Twitter and fan forums came along. It's now part and parcel of the territory and frankly he should not read any of it. His head will expand after any victory and he'll get depressed and raging after any defeat. He needs to be level headed and seek improvements after every win and see the positives after every defeat.

He is a decent bloke who you'd love to have a pint with in normal times. He loves his football, understands the game and knows his players. I always believe you should back the manager - particularly in the tough times - until his position becomes untenable. It was eventually with Jacko, but has never been with KH in my opinion. Let's hope he is our manager for a long time to come.

Interesting points RLC. Part of me wonders whether he is still a bit unsure whether he has won over the SWA with his Bolton connections (doesnt bother me), and that many thought Parky/Dawes should have gotten the job. I also remember a Rochdale fan saying he could be a bit prickly at times if asked anything controversial (not that he has been).

But as you say he should stop responding to it as when fans are at PP he’ll want them to support him. Even when some of our fans criticised Micky or booed certain things he would never mention it and just complement the fans. Overall Keith has done an excellent job so far and long May it continue

Yes, no complaints with the job he is doing, but I just wonder whether he is creating problems for himself further down the line.

I didn't notice excessive criticism after the Crawley defeat and thought Keith's response in that post-match interview was measured. However, it would probably be in everyone's best interest if he reined in negative remarks about the fan base going forward.

I thought most of the comment after Saturday's defeat related to Vaughan's injury rather than Hill's tactics and selection.

Think there was an acceptance the strategy we'd used without Vaughan hadn't worked in the Crawley game so other options would be looked at?

when most teams sit back and slow it down, it is easy to get caught up in their style of play just look at the red sht can't buy a win or score at home or away in the LG

It seems the elite are finally catching up with Keith's methods.
