Probably good news for our Welsh neighbours. The fan-run model has its limitations and due to their high profile the new owners unlikely to risk anything that comes across as bad pr. Would be good to have a localish rival back in the FL.

Some of their fans think the Cowleys might consider taking the managerial role when Dean Keates gets the push. I’d have thought that unlikely but the same is true of them joining Rovers.

Except when they are playing us, I always wish other local clubs well. This could be a rich men’s plaything, but I think these two are serious and it’s more than a hobby. They have probably got a good financial deal and might end up with a valuable investment in five years time. It’s certainly good PR for both club and new owners. My main reservation is that it is a complete takeover from the supporters trust, who don’t seem to have any representation.

I look forward to seeing Wrexham back where they belong in a couple of years.

Well if they get back into the football league they wont be able to spend more than the salary cap.

Obviously very good news for Wrexham and all pretty amazing to think that this takeover has taken place with a pandemic as a backdrop. I believe that the Racecourse remains in some kind of ownership by the Trust, which sounds like a good thing. I wish them well and will always be grateful to them for Steel, Harris, Jennings. How mouth-watering does the thought of being able to attend an EFL fixture against them in the next few seasons sound right now?

I personally prefer our ownership model. We have already received more foreign investment than Wrexham are due to receive, with the crucial difference that a local, ethical owner (MP) retains control of the club.

It is a major risk handing complete control of the club to an outsider with virtually no knowledge of football in this country and no local connection.

I wholeheartedly agree with this but beggars can't be choosers. I suspect that there is only one direction that Wrexham are headed without a change of plan, and I doubt that will be the EFL!

Indeed, just guarding against any jealousy regarding our neighbours. We are in a stronger position. :)
