at last, the footie returns it's going to be wired with no fans inside, really hope the lads are ready and Jacko gets off to a good start. Harrogate are going to be on a high and it's not going to be easy I hope we play two up top think it will be tight and we will run out 2-1 winners with blacky Taylor and James scoring

We desperately need a good start but I have an uneasy feeling about this one. Could be another Boreham Wood 2015. Hope I’m wrong and I’d take any win including penalties.

I don't know that much about Harrogate, looking at their squad, the only players who seem familiar are veteran striker Jon Stead and Jack Muldoon, who played for Lincoln. They will undoubtedly want to make an impression in their first competitive game as a FL club.

My inclination is that we should pick as strong a line-up as possible for this game in the hope of making progress. The time for experimentation is the EFL Trophy game at Port Vale. No new injury doubts, but MJ didn't sound that confident that those recently missing would be fit for this game. Definitely a makeshift right-back with O'Connor on international duty and probably Murphy in the nets and Payne up front.

Like BBTC, I have a nagging feeling that things won't go our way.

I think we should play with two strikers at home to sides like Harrogate, but it seems that injuries will force us to use the 451 formation. It sounded like Vaughan and Ferrier are both still doubtful from Jacko's pre-match interview, and I would guess Ridehalgh will fill in at right back.

We have two very tough league games in the weeks that follow, so I think a victory is important to settle nerves. Like Boz, I know very little about Harrogate, other than they are another tiny, bankrolled club and this is our first ever competitive game against them.

In all honesty, I have mixed feelings about the new season due to the Covid situation. I don't have the same anticipation as normal and watching matches on a computer screen just feels weird. Hopefully I will get used to it.

On the positive side, we seem to have assembled our best squad in a number of years and should be competitive.

Not that sure that pre-season has been as irrelevant as some have suggested and feel that we are maybe a game or two short of where we ideally would need to be. Suspect we may be looking at tomorrow and definitely Tuesday's micky mouse game as our final pre-season games before the Mansfield game. Injuries may also impact if Ferrier and Vaughan are out. Harrogate will also definitely be up for this so I am going for a difficult game and maybe a 2-0 loss.
That said, I am looking forward to watching my first game of football since lockdown even if only on the telly and being completely proved wrong with an emphatic win...

I think we'll put in a really good performance and come out 2-0 winners.

Yes, I fancy us to win the game comfortably. Famous last words.
I don't often say this to anyone, but I hope you are right and I am wrong. I think the squad is still a little undercooked at the moment and won't yet be firing on all cylinders, but hopefully will by next Saturday.

I remember clearly how tough our first games were after promotion from the NL, the difference in level was very obvious. I hope and expect us to give Harrogate their own "culture shock".

Nice to see 2 up front and Ferrier in the starting eleven. Scottie starts too but will he captain the side? No place for Morris in the side

A lot of smoke and mirrors. I thought Scott Davies was still a way from match fitness and O'Connor away on international duty and certainly the side is stronger with a proper right-back there. 4-3-3 looks more likely. Morris a bit unlucky, looked one of the better players in the Preston game. Hopefully off to a good start...

It could be 442 with Kahn wide. Good to see Vaughan and Ferrier starting. The only real surprise is the omission of Morris.

The I follow line-up suggests 442, like RLC above. Think I’d have preferred Morris out wide with Khan in the middle ahead of Lewis, but we’ll see.
