I'm not surprised. This year, the transfer window does not close until 5th October and may be extended a few more days for domestic moves only. I expect we are looking for one or two more loanees and possibly an out-of-contract player who is willing to take a big pay cut.

October 16 for domestic deals.

Where was that interview, bigmart? All I could find was a very brief clip with Mike talking about the injustice of the demotion being used as motivation.
On that topic, as we've clearly accepted the demotion, a little surprised that there's been nothing from the Palioi explaining their decision.

It was on the tranmere you tube channel.

Thanks bigmart. It was an interesting interview, though nothing unexpected.

Yes Jacko suggested one or two more will be coming in but hinted they will be to bring depth so I’m not expecting any big signings as it were.
In other news Luke Pilling signs for conference side Notts County. The magpies lost the play off final to our opponents Tomorrow A few months ago. Hopefully he can get some game time.

Likely to be back up there as well.

We have a good first XI if they are all fit and on form, but there certain positions where we have no depth. I am sure this will be addressed in the next week or so.

It is rumoured elsewhere by the usual sources that Jacko wants two out and four in by the end of the window, the two presumably being Ray and Nelson.

We have been linked with Liam Feeney of Blackpool.

Even if we release Ray and Nelson from their current deals, unless Stockport need central defenders, it's unlikely they'll get a matching contract elsewhere and they are still young enough to wait and see out the year. If both were to go, then one of the four coming in would need to be a defender.

Don't know much about Feeney, but his age puts me off. We need to be bringing in some younger players with pace and stamina.

I personally think we have already got enough creativity in midfield, but the tactical set up at the top of the pitch is not right at the moment. I think Banks, Morris, Khan and CBT all have plenty of creativity, but we do need greater numbers for competition and to cover injuries.

If Payne partners Vaughan as a second striker, he should be capable of getting to double figures.

Morris scored goals from midfield last season.

None of the current midfield, excepting CBT if he regains fitness, look capable of getting 6+ goals a season on their past form.

They won't necessarily need to if Vaughan scores 15-20, Payne scores ten and Clarke and Ellis weigh in from set plays.

Morris is capable of scoring more than six at this level. He has been in League One for most of his career.
