Mark Palios doing a facebook address to fans tomorrow evening, so we may get a better idea of how things are after that.

No, I did not think so. I think Nicola's recent tweet shows the degree of respect there is between the Palioses and Mellon.

They appreciate what he has done for the club as much as we do. Or at least, 99.9% of us........
Yes I saw NP's tweet shortly after which I agree was different in tone and nicely put.

BTW I assume I am part of the 0.01% then RLC..... if so, then yes I can't say I am that disappointed MM has left, but 100% I wish him well and 100% respect him for what he has done but nothing lasts forever and personally I think he was found out this year and definitely did not have a good season. What is critical now is we get the right person... we will all have our own views but hopefully the £120k will help bring in someone who can hit the ground running..

We've had some stinkers over the years haven't we?!

On a serious note though, I think my biggest disappointment now that Micky has gone is the mentality, desire and belief has gone with him. He knew what was required to play for Tranmere and the respect he showed the club was brilliant. He tried to instill that into everyone he came into contact with and I loved that about him. I can't see anyone coming close to him in this respect. Sorry guys, I'm still pretty gutted he's gone..

I think you are very much in a minority, yes. And it would have been classier to simply give him a good send off tonight rather than regurgitate lines about him being 'found out'.

He was not, incidentally. He was going to keep us up, despite operating for most of the season on a shoestring budget.

I do find your attitude towards him completely baffling.

Yes, it is the rapport with the fans that will be so hard to replicate. I felt genuinely sad tonight, which I have not felt about the departure of any other manager, certainly since Kingy. The majority of them have left no impression on me whatsoever, even the better ones.

Sad to see Micky go. I can’t help thinking whether if Covid had happened six weeks later, we’d have stayed up and Micky would have stayed put. But now let’s thank him, wish him all the best and move on.

A final thought. If Jacko moves north too, presumably we’ll get more dosh. However, what if he wants to stay and the new boss wants to bring his own people in. Who pays his redundancy? A lot of that £120k would disappear.

Micky had talks with Swansea about their job last year, regardless of how the season would ended I believe he would have moved on.

It wouldn’t have surprised me. Half expecting Micky to return at some stage in the future too.

mm and Jacko tends to go together. so wait and see if he stays I think the new man will just have to work with it happens at most clubs.

I’d be surprised if Dundee United splashed out to relocate Jacko and Hodge aswell as MM as had been mentioned on another forum.
I remember Hodge in particular left Salop to be closer to his home in Preston and Jacko lived around the Helsby area I thought.

Talking of being classier it would be far classier if you kept your personal jibes to yourself in future.

I don't see any personal jibes in my comment above, but I do remember your defence of a former poster who directed personal abuse at me.

I don't think Jackson is management material. It's just a feel I get but he may be happy staying as assistant to the boss. I'd hate to be in MP shoes trying to fill Micky's boots, it's hard enough as it is. I do believe there is a certain amount of luck involved too. They either gel or they don't at clubs. There is no hard and fast rule.

I’d heard that Hodgo was joining Micky so the £120k could be for both. Jacko staying in England and Micky working with Lee McCullough and another existing Dundee coach. Could just be rumours though.

I’m still really gutted and hoping MP will cheer us up later - anyone seen what time he’s on?
Not that I’m expecting anything more than what the announcement said.

there does not appear to e a time for it that I can see, I think it is on facebook. Could be an update on if we intend to take legal action or not and that we are in the process of going through candidates for the managers job.
