This game feels like the last chance saloon for Rovers.

I am not excusing recent results, but even taking into account our many deficiencies, we have had a very tough run of fixtures recently: Coventry, Ipswich, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Doncaster, interspersed with matches against Premier League teams. If we can finally get a result tomorrow, the next eight to ten games are kinder and against teams predominantly in the bottom half of the table, and would give us an opportunity to get some kind of momentum.

My big concern tomorrow is the threat Clarke-Harris poses in the air, particularly from set plays. If we defend as poorly as we did on Saturday we will be punished, and ideally we need Clarke back. However, I would not rush him back if it risks losing him for an extended period.

I would start with the same line up as Saturday, save for Ridehalgh replacing the injured Woods at left back, and Clarke coming in for Ray if he is available.

The gate will hopefully sneak above 5,000, with about 200 from Bristol.

only 4600 this could be sub 5k or just around it mainly just st holders going to be there tomorrow.only a couple hundred away ... ok lets get sum good vibes i hope the boys can put in a performance tomorrow mm was pissed off after pompey and i think he will have told them its not good enough mamy is a odd one he plays well with an older head then crap when not with em . it makes you wonder if that is whats holding him back from bigger things .i want to see passion and the boys getting there body,s in the way of everthing thats thrown at them . i want to see good balls crossed to cookie and the vaughan closer togeather so the get the knock downs . we need CBT running at them and the full backs getting forward and putting good balls in . we will win 2-0 with both the forward lads getting 1 . lets win this then get a run going .

The pitch is starting to turn yellow and the green grass is slowly disappearing. With all the changes recently in tactics/first XI we could do with a slightly settled squad. No idea what Micky has in mind but we need much more from the attacking players tomorrow. Let's hope not only that we score but that we score first and settle the nerves.

Any news on the pitch?
I haven't seen anything yet that suggests a postponement. The normal pre-match preview has been put up with no comment. The forecast suggests that it could stay dry until kick off, so fingers crossed.

Lol - not on the BBC forecast it isn't!
Check out the Met Office site ! Seriously, I find that it is more accurate than the BBC.

I just checked and they have updated the forecast.

Only the wind to worry about now.

I agree that we want the game played if we can. Bristol are on a terrible run and may not fancy a wet and windy trip to Birkenhead on a Tuesday night. A win would set us up for Saturday’s trip to Rochdale where we are capable of getting something.

So Feeney not even mentioned in the injury list, both full backs pulled at HT against Pompey.. Just an average week at Solar Campus then...

Feeney has gone back to Everton and is expected to be out for 3 months, so I wouldn't expect us to be seeing him again.

Maybe he wasn't quite ready to be thrown into the baptism of fire that is Bolton v Tranmere. Poor lad.

Hadn’t realised it was such a bad hamstring injury for Feeney. Shame in the sense that his record was promising. Hope he recovers

Any updates on prospects for the game going ahead?

If we do play tonight then Clarke will play if fit, but agree we shouldn’t rush him. If both of the starting full-backs from Saturday are injured, guess Rides and Caprice are the only options. If we’re sticking with 442, probably the same midfield and attack, though I thought Cook and Ferrier linked quite well when Morgan came on and wouldn’t be adverse to that pairing starting.

Most grateful if anybody can post any updates on here; it'll reduce my likelihood of finding out it's been cancelled while on the M6.

I've heard this, Ian, but no official mention of it even being at risk that I have seen. I can understand them not wanting to put the frighteners on since it would reduce the gate, but at some point they need to consider the travelling Gas fans, surely?
