Pulled a quad muscle Ian. Will be a few weeks. Banks does look like the type of player to me that physically could take a while to get to full match fitness.
woods back in training as is RHM.

What we do need to make sure is that if the result doesn’t go our way, that the camp isn’t too despondent. We’re in a perilous position in the league and Blackpool is an important game if we have to play it

Absolutely, Sparky. And that means that the SWA will need to roar like crazy tomorrow, even if - especially if - we are losing. Spirits need to be kept up. It's not inconceivable that we lose by a handful. If so, we've all got to move on to Saturday in the best possible frame of mind.

I wonder what state the training pitch is in?

I’m guessing banks picked the injury up during his brief ineffective cameo appearance against Ipswich

I've no idea how this game will go. Could be anything from an epic Rovers victory to a Spurs like hammering. My gut feeling is a battling Rovers will lose narrowly, but just a feeling.

I would hope Micky makes some adjustments from the Ipswich line-up. Woodyard unavailable, so one change inevitable, but we need more creativity. Whether that's best achieved by moving Morris into midfield, starting with CBT or playing 2 up front is debatable.

I think even with a much changed team they will be too strong for us.

I think we need to start Morris and Jennings in attacking roles, to provide the creativity Boz refers to, but it won't be easy to do that and stay solid defensively. I think this fixture could potentially follow the same pattern as the replays we played against non league teams last season, where the underdog was the better side in the original fixture but was then comfortably beaten in the replay. The crucial difference is that whereas we played our strongest available teams against Southport and Oxford, Watford will be even weaker than in the original fixture, having also played and lost a crucial league game on Tuesday night. Whatever the outcome, the gate will be 10,000 plus and it should be quite a night.

the same guys saying we will get beat . sorry chaps but im staying positive as i can . i know we have been a very little up and more downs . but come on we have a sh&t pitch and there kids had cramp on 60 mins on there manicured carpet of a pitch . if the boys get at them and make them run they will suffer big time .we just can,t do what we did at there place and give easy goals away . we need to grow some balls get at them get in there faces make those little boys know that they have been in a grown ups game . if we do that we win 2-1 . if we don,t we go out

This is a difficult enough fixture to predict, even without the emotional attachment. One team comes from 3 down to draw, there are 2 leagues between the teams, the higher team with play a second string, the game is at the home of the lower team - in terms of confidence and expectations (of the teams), the psychology is pretty mesmerising. Based on the facts I really wouldn't have a clue how to set opening odds if I was a bookie. Logic would say a full strength EPL team at HOME to a L1 team is a 90% win chance all day long. A full strength EPL team AWAY to a L1 team... 70-75%? A second string EPL team away to a L1 team.. trickier! Take into account the rollercoaster of the first match and God only knows! I'm going for a Rovers' win, not that I'd ever back against us, but expect that we will concede and that there will be moments of magic from Watford that we can't really nullify. However, these are young men that we are playing against and, in the majority, won't be seasoned pros; reflected in concentration, consistency, reaction to adversity etc. etc. We need to counteract this with consistency and concentration - particularly in defence and the centre of midfield. If we can avoid being overrun in the middle and create our own chances it will start to hurt Watford. I am going for 3-2 to us and wouldn't be surprised if we need to come from behind to get there.

If today's media is to be believed it sounds like we pretty much get a bye into Round 5 if we win this one....

A lot of #SWA opinion seems to be "they WILL be too strong for us" and, therefore, a win will be a shock. I don't buy that; yes they MAY be too strong for us on the night but it's not a "given". Interestingly, being surrounded by people who don't have any emotional attachment at all, the consensus is that we have a really good chance tonight. Either way, undisputedly exciting times with loads at stake everywhere - let's enjoy the rollercoaster and keep our fingers crossed! It's 1,000 times better than wondering whether we should put a full team out for a FA Trophy fixture or concentrate on catching the VNL play off places!

Interesting take from a Waford fan in terms of team selection below. From my perspective I have no idea what Tranmere side will turn up (Woodyard will be a miss) so difficult to call.

This was the team and subs who played against Tranmere:
Bachmann, Mariappa, Dawson, Spencer-Adams, Masina, Quina, Chalobah, Dele-Bashiru, Success, Gray, Pereyra.
Substitutes
Joo Pedro, Sarr, Dalby, Barrett, Whelan, Hungbo, Parkes
Amazing how things have moved on so quickly in such a short space of time for tonight there is no way we can now risk Dawson, Mariappa, Masina, Chalobah, or Sarr even though some of these are injured.
I think all of the younger ones will play again plus Pedro to start this time, Pussetto, Holebas, Kabasele and a little bit of tinkering?
