Mills of Forest Green would be a decent signing at left back if we could nick him. He's quick, up and down like a fiddler's elbow, and can whip a cross in too......also nick the odd goal. I like him!
Yes, he had two good games against us in the semis - and he takes no prisoners.

Tollitt released. Probably no great surprise. Hope he finds his feet again.

Tollitt back to Wrexham, I'd expect. If he'd stayed last time, I wonder if the Dragons would have been promoted.

No further news on player exits, although I'd have expected Micky to have decided by now. I wonder if the managerial uncertainty is holding up some of the important decisions.

I read on twitter that it is likely that the out of contract players wont be offered new deals / released until they have returned from holiday. I would expect that players will already know where their futures lie.

I suppose the club doesn't want to spoil the atmosphere on the Magalluf holiday.

Paddy Wharton also released. Apparently Evan Gumbs been offered a new contract also....

I don't think dubious rumours regarding the manager will have any bearing on contract decisions.

It will depend how dubious they are. If Micky has asked permission to talk to Swansea, that would make a difference - certainly to contract renewals and new signings, if not departures.

The contract decisions will already have been made. A change of manager - which is not going to happen anyway - would not make any difference at this stage.

Yeah, I think the manager rumours are nonsense. I think we should best focus on the players contracts. It will certainly be interesting to see who we get in but expect this will be some weeks away yet.

Norwood signed a 3 year deal with Ipswich!! Gutted but not surprised. Good luck to him, been immense for us and I wish him all the very best! #legend

A club with a decent history and a three year contract which should give him some financial security. However, the fans will be very demanding of a team that has just been relegated so I hope it works out for him on the pitch. Best of luck James - we now have to replace him!

Suggestions Tollitt may not be heading to Wrexham, possibly a league club.

Meanwhile Paddy Wharton joins Football Club United of Manchester.

We really do have a significant task to pull together a team capable of being competitive in L1 next season. Given that we were the 6th best team in L2 last season - probably higher if only the matches after our January additions were counted - it is a challenge anyway. I don't expect our income is going to increase massively (£400k additional FL/TV money and an increase in season ticket sales?), yet we will have to strengthen our team including (probably) replacing our most important player. Yes, we do have some players who are definitely capable of making the step up but not all of them. Perhaps a slightly different challenge than the previous 2 seasons and I'm really interested (even excited!) to see how the manager and owner approach this. Even in L2 with an upward trajectory and one of the largest fan bases we felt like a "biggish" fish in a small pond - next season we still start with the upward trajectory but, based on attendances, are more likely to be an "average" sized fish in a bigger pond. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't swap our position or status quo with any other team in L1 but think that we may have been promoted too soon for MP to be able to deliver on his "top third budget" commitment. The season just gone has been amazing and we have over-achieved; I'll be seriously happy with a mid-table finish, increased attendances, no increase in debts, and a continued positivity around the club by the end of next season. Everything that keeps that rocket heading for the moon!

It is reassuring to have Palios in charge, as the temptation to invest money you haven't got, to gamble on promotion, is too much for dome lesser Chairmen.

I would imagine we will be in the bottom half dozen budgets in League One next season, but with Mellon in charge I still expect us to stay up. If we do consolidate, we still have the gates and infrastructure to be competitive at that level in future seasons.

As strange as it sounds, next season is a big challenge for Micky personally, despite the success he has enjoyed at several clubs. He did not fare particularly well in League One last time around with Shrewsbury, and probably feels he has something to prove to himself and others.

Exactly my thoughts, & bearing in mind last time we were at this level we had little investment & managed by legendary Les among others I see us finishing either mid-table or just below if the stars align.
