If we want competition for Ridehalgh at left back, Dan Butler at Newport would be worth considering. He is out of contract and was excellent yesterday.
Most of the Exiles team are now out of contract, so Micky could take his pick. They have some good players who would improve our squad.

Rumoured that Joe Murphy is returning as back up for Davies.
A bit surprising. Joe is out of contract, but has been an ever-present this season. Maybe he wants a job where he gets paid - even if it is as understudy to Scott Davies.

Incidentally, Ryan Lowe (who still has a year left on his contract) has been talking to Plymouth about becoming their manager. Everywhere he goes he wants to break his contract, although to be fair, I'm surprised anyone wants to be associated with Bury at the moment.

I think Bury will be lucky to have a team to field next season!

Murphy would be a good call. As I understand it Wharton has been released already yet personally I thought had better prospects than Pilling..

Murphy coming towards the end of his career even allowing for goalie’s playing longer, now in his late 30s. Would count as a home grown player. With youngster Bayleigh Passant getting his first pro deal, guess this means goodbye to both Pilling and Wharton, if confirmed.

I think we should offer McCullough something. He was a key player until his injury. Maybe a one year deal but with a reduced payment until he is fit again when his payments would be significantly improved. A real incentive for him to get fit ASAP. No one else will sign him at the moment.

Also, though I realise football clubs are ruthless with finances, it doesn't seem right that he gets injured whilst playing for us and then is released when still injured.
How do players pay the mortgage in situations like this?

Luke is not our player. He's on Forest's books, although your point is still valid. I don't know who if anyone picks up the bill for his wages and continuing treatment. Surely it counts as an industrial injury and the employer is liable. Anyone of us a lawyer?

McCullough has already been released by Doncaster, so I would imagine he is not being paid by anybody at the moment, unless we have already agreed a deal with him.

Maybe players have their own insurance policies, like gap insurance!

Strong suggestions that Manny will be signing a new contract and Nors wants to stay but contracts need to be sorted.

His contract will till the end of June so he will have another month left, maybe insurance will cover loss of earnings ?

Im not sure we will find out about contract offers or players being released for a few days as the squad fly to Magaluf tomorrow

Mills of Forest Green would be a decent signing at left back if we could nick him. He's quick, up and down like a fiddler's elbow, and can whip a cross in too......also nick the odd goal. I like him!
