Yes, decent crowd. You sometimes have to remember we have gone to the basement and are heading back. We lost a lot of support over the years but the place was buzzing tonight. The problem we have with Nors is that there is no-one remotely close to Norwood who can score goals like he can and put in his work rate so we don't really have a decent replacement. His 30 goals tells it's own story.

I agree about Norwood. However, I would seriously be tempted to start with him on the bench on Monday night. The way he is at the moment, even if we got to Wembley he would not be in any state to make an impression, unless he can get some proper rest.

Well, we certainly did not deserve to lose. I believe Ryan Lowe was one of the TV pundits, and if they were his comments it would not surprise me.
We certainly didn't deserve to lose - and I didn't say we did. I just said we could have. The goal would not have been given but the Doidge penalty might have. Personally, I thought the ref had a good game in difficult circumstances and got most of the key decisions spot on. I am happy because I take the 1-0 for what it was, as Micky did. You would expect Cooper to fist pump just to lift his players. Roll on Monday!

Banks' goal was legitimate, so if it had been disallowed and we had lost, it would be an obvious injustice. There was also a potential red card for Doidge which was not spotted.

From the comments of our supporters the Sky coverage was awful, with basic factual errors and an obvious lack of knowledge of the level. At least the BT presenters and commentators bother to research the division they are covering.

I fully agree with both comments. Alan Parry and Don Goodman seemed to know little more than the average punter, which surprised me. They certainly seemed to know very little about TRFC or FGR.

I have a feeling this tie could go all the way to extra time and penalties. Very difficult to call.

What was the issue with Banks goal? Don’t recall any infringement and the goaline technology was in place to confirm it. The latter seemed to take a while, played on for half a minute before goal given.

As the second half went on, I had fears that they might nick an equaliser, which would have completely altered the momentum of the tie. A 1-0 home win is a good result especially with FGR's home record. We will probably need another goal - preferably early on - but I am confident.

I think it was more like 2-3 seconds at most than half a minute. That's just how long it takes for the system to update on his watch.

Yes, I thought it was pretty much instantaneous. He checked his watch and then signalled for the goal.

If you cut out the emotion of last night, and the frustration of the second half, a 1-0 victory is a good result. FGR will have to beat us by two clear goals, which they won't find easy.

They beat us 3-1 in October, but that was against a Tranmere side that did not feature Banks / Perkins / Morris / Pringle, and Monthe had to play at left back that night, with Steve struggling a bit at centre back. Plus, we won't be chasing the game and can make life as awkward as possible for them as we protect our lead.
