I am sorry if my light comment struck a nerve BBTC. It was clumsy and not intended to hurt. A couple of years ago I was in MK before visiting Bletchley Park which was fascinating. I imagine that as is the case in most places these days, many fans will gravitate to the Premier League and London is not that far away. Hoping for a win tomorrow!
No nerves struck, drw! I took it as the joke it was meant to be. It's just that MK has an unjustified reputation, as has Birkenhead, I suppose. These usually come from people who have never visited.

I go with my son-in-law and 2 grandsons, we always do a prediction & I always go for a draw so if we lose am not too upset if we win it,s a bonus I should be more upbeat I know but it is rovers so I,m sticking with a draw

Maybe we are just used to having an amazing away following but 350 sounds pretty pathetic considering the enormity of this game.

When you look at our away support, particularly in the south-east, we have lots of Wirral exiles - like me ;) . The Southern SWA is very strong. Being such a new city, Milton Keynes won't have as many ex-residents and so will rely almost entirely on travelling support.

It's an old cliche but getting that first goal tommorow is vital. If they score it they're good enough to stifle us and see the game out.
What a testimony to how we've progressed in 12 months. They were L1, we were in the bin and here we are contemplating a win to set up another four cup finals!
Have to say that I'm a little worried we've already peaked, but we're back at PP and we'll have the 12th man!
If we get beat, have a read of this and think TFTT!

That's why I was so happy when we won in May and would still be a happy man even if we fail to even make the play-offs. The financial impact of relegation and the difficulty of getting back up still horrifies me.

We're as one there BBTC.
I still take an unhealthy interest in the bin, likely to remind me of how luck shone us on 12th May.

It's not unhealthy, CK. No need to feel guilty looking at all those wannabe teams in the NL. We've served our time. ;)

It looks like Wrexham will have to rely on the play-offs. I think they are missing poor Ben Tollitt. :(

However, we took 800 fans to Carlisle in September, which is a similar distance to MK and in a part of the country where we have virtually no exiles. Similarly, we took 2,500 to Oldham on a Tuesday night with the vast majority of fans travelling from the Wirral, yet I don't think MK have taken 1,000 fans to any of their local games this season. MK's travelling support is awful, however you dress it up, and reflects the fact that the majority of their fanbase is casual and semi-interested.

It would be interesting to rank sides by the percentage away support compared to home support. I bet we'd be near the top while MK would probably be at the bottom. Interesting, but someone else might like to do it. ;)

We would be close to the top, but Oldham and perhaps Bury would be above us, as they both travel in good numbers despite relatively poor home gates. They are completely the opposite of MK in having a limited fanbase, but a very committed core of support.

As Boz suggests, we might start with Dagnall up front alongside Norwood, probably at the expense of Smith. We have not created that much in the last two games and the absence of Pringle probably has hindered us a bit.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel very nervous ahead of this game.

I'm nervous too. Unusually for a league game, it's a must win for both teams. We need all three points to close the gap on third place, while if MK drop any they will probably lose ground on Mansfield and Bury.

For that reason, it's impossible to call. With the way both teams play, it should be a good game to watch if you are a neutral, but a nailbiter for the committed.

I’m always nervous before a game and more so before this one, as the outcome potentially defines our season.

Think a point for the visitors would be a reasonable result from their viewpoint, given how off-field events appear to be impacting on Bury, one of the main contenders for an automatic slot. Will be interesting to see if they adopt a similar approach to Oldham and Newport to stifle our supply lines or stick to their normal game plan.
