Carlisle not the best team to come here but thet were very organised and we appeared to struggle to get to grips 1st half, great time to score the 1st goal, 2nd half we appeared to have a bit more urgency & upped the tempo, stuffy goal from nors from where I was sitting but no doubts about the bullet header from many, great clearance from rides to help keep the clean sheets, crowd brilliant

Slightly off topic but potentially relevant, it was a magnificent performance by bottom club Macc who drew at top-of-the-table Lincoln only to find rivals Notts County had won 3-0 at Swindon! I expect both clubs to overtake Yeovil, who are in freefall having lost 11 out of the last 13 matches and look doomed. Crawley and Cambridge are winless in four and could get sucked into the relegation fight. Let's hope Crawley are safe (or relegated) by the last day of the season.

Agree with RLC that Perkins was MOM. He was immense but plenty of other good performances including caprice and big manny.

McCullough looked like a hamstring which is a worry but Harris did very well although tougher tests ahead so that is a worry.

As RLC Nelson is ill but Tollit has no chance of playing again for us barring an injury crisis.

As well as seven wins on the bounce, we are undefeated in nine games with seven clean sheets and just two goals. I can't remember such a good run.

Off topic but does anyone know if the original Oldham game tickets can be used on Tuesday?

Agreed re Tollitt and Nelson will likely only come back in if Ellis or Manny are injured I suspect although I think he is a quality player.
Unable to get to the game today but sounded as RLC says like a very very good second performance. I was nervous before the game today but obviously the boys have far more confidence in themselves!! plus the 3 goals helps the goal difference quite nicely although we are still a fair way behind the top 3 if it comes to that. If we can win on Tuesday we are for sure in play offs but more importantly we are getting closer and closer to automatic. Good old Swindle did us a big favour today at Bury and an added bonus was Danny Mayor's straight red card. Keep it going lads!!

Interesting to hear Micky say Pringle was dropped today, not injured. Something must have gone on on the training ground there.

Hopefully he will be back in the fold soon.

Mc Cullouch injury does not sound good - knee and going for a scan... hopefully not as bad as it sounds

When Pringle was subbed at Colchester last week, I assumed it was tactical. I didn't notice any injury. I'm surprised he's got dropped right out of the squad, but we are not exactly short of wingers.

While we've got wingers to spare, Luke is the only specialist defensive midfielder. Bad news indeed. Micky will have to improvise or change his system.

To be honest I was a bit disappointed with Pringle last week having read good reports about him but thought he did not influence the game much and faded. Not sure if it is true but I was told on good authority he was being paid £6k a week at Grimsby so if correct and we are paying the same, it seems a very expensive Saturday off.
Having had an enforced long gap between being able to get to matches, I am wondering what has happened to Adam Buxton. Always thought he was one of the better technically skilled who could read the game well. Is Rides a better bet than Bucko at LB?

See if Jay Harris can step up. I suspect he will only have a few more games to play for Rovers honest trier though he is.

Buxton has only really played right back for us, and Caprice has made that position his own. Buxton's lack of mobility causes him problems when he comes up against pace at this level. Pringle is a very good player in my opinion, but clearly something has gone on behind the scenes. He is not a 'showy' winger but is very good technically and rarely gives the ball away. Pringle and Perkins are the major reasons for our improvement since January.

In the end it was a comfortable win for Rovers, but Carlisle had 4 decent first half chances and on another day things could have turned out very different. The visitors were able to stifle our midfield in the early stages and when McCulloch went off, there were a couple of times when defenders got caught in possession and there wasn't an out ball, which Luke usually offers. Norwood seemed quite isolated in that half, in Pringle's absence, Jennings seemed to be playing as a left-winger and Banks the most advanced of the midfield. However, Rovers rode our luck and grabbed the lead with a well-worked goal headed in by Banks in added time.

In his post match interview, MM refers to making some adjustments at half-time. I wasn't paying enough attention to be sure, but wonder if this involved sharing out the McCulloch role between Perkins and Harris. Perkins seemed to be operating a bit deeper in the second half and doing very well there. Couldn't put my finger on what else we did, but it was a much more positive approach, although until Norwood, with a bit of fortune, got Caprice's excellent cross over the line,it was still a bit nervy. Monthe's header was the icing on the cake.

McCulloch being out for the rest of the season will cause difficulty, as his ability to break up play and provide an out ball protects the defence. Perkins can do that job, but is more influential further forward and there is a fear that Harris is a bit of a loose cannon. I'm also concerned about Pringle being out of favour, if it means Jennings being played on the left-wing and Norwood a lone striker.

Perkins had another good game, Jennings popped up around the pitch, doing some good defensive work and Monthe topped an assured performance with a goal. However my MoM was Jake Caprice, some excellent attacking work, topped by the assist for Norwood's goal and he was at times the sole outlet for moving the ball forward in the first half, along with tidy defensive work.

If Luke is out for a while, more than happy for Jay to have his swansong for last few games.
He did fine today and he and Perkins mugged their midfielders numerous times.
I expected the win but not with such a comfortable scoreline.
Rode our luck with their effort that hit the bar ( should've scored) though it did wake us up.
Terrific play from Perkins for the first goal. What a clever player he is. Probably MOM for me with Mannie a close second though.
Got to feel for some of those lads on the bench but hey ho, it's part of the package when you play for a winning team!
Good turnout from Carlisle. Not as noisy as usual, even up til we scored, which suggests they weren't too optimistic.
Every game from now on is the biggest of the season.
Great isn't it.
