Still a strong team, however. Looks like 4-5-1, but the midfield is full-strength apart from Banks and possibly Gilmour. Let's see how our second-string centre-back partnership of Sutton and Ellis get on.

More changes than I expected, totally changed the defence.

Disappointed. Let’s hope we get something from the game.

Always the way. Your a side in poor form so the next thing u need is a game against Tranmere to put things right!

Overall performance has been decent but shocking defending by the full backs has cost us. Centre halves have been OK

Hindsight is easy but changing the whole back 4 in one go? Caprice and Zoom have been poor away from in recent games and looks like it’s happening again.

Micky clearly focussing on Monday

Disappointing result with our 4th away defeat in a row and another 3 conceded against an out of form Notts side.

Await any reports but changing for the whole back 4 was asking for trouble. Good for Smith and CJ to score but disappointing again to leak goals away from home.

I guess if we win on Monday then no one will be too upset about today

I will. Conceded three against a poor side. Some of our play was good in parts but defensively poor. Poor away form continues..

Me too.....3 points thrown away today.....2 great goals wasted by some schoolboy defending...again (actually schoolboys would have done better than that) we've learnt nothing from the shambolic defending at Shrewsury or Grimsby. Out of the playoff places now and Southport come back to earn a draw in their Trophy game. Really hope we win Monday as some serious questions to be asked of the management decision if we've sacrificed the points today but fail to get past Southport.

Different from last couple of weeks, yes. Not exactly going to plan, hope we can turn it around.
Clearly our reserve defence, as their performance suggested. You really don't think mc nulty and monthe are first choice ?

We dominated the second half and should have won the game, let alone lose it. Stupid penalty given away by Ellis diving in, virtually the only attack Notts had in the half to that point. With the first choice back four we would have won. Our play in possession was good and there were still positives to take from the game.

Haven't seen the goals, but read that Sutton should share some blame for the penalty, doubtless RLC or any other attender will be able to say if that's fair comment or not. Despite the defensive numbers, we do seem to be lacking in quality at the back. Presumably Mike Jackson as a former defender himself has some responsibility for the coaching of defenders?

I remain convinced that it was the correct approach to rest key players for this game. However, we'll only know for sure come the end of the season.
