I agree with Charlton 1975 that allowing Crewe too much time on the ball was a significant factor in their win. However, without McCulloch at Oxford, we are going to be in some difficulty with the midfield. I don’t think Crewe are that poor a side, but at times we made it easy for them.

In terms of best player, thought Norwood had improved vastly from an off-day v Oxford and took his goal well.

As RLC and BBTC say confidence can’t be great in the camp at present and its all set up for a giant killing on BT sport on Tuesday night on the Astro turf

The players will have to hold their nerve

Yes, I thought Norwood had a decent game, with very little service. I think Crewe are a decent footballing side, as Morecambe were a few weeks ago. Another reminder that struggling teams at this level are not cannon fodder, as in the National League.

Just out of interest, has Mullin actually been credited with the second goal yet ? It was clearly his finish rather than Banks'.

Mullin has got five goals now from very few starts, a decent return. I think he was a good signing.

I think he will be Norwood's replacement when he leaves probably in the summer

Also its Eric Nixon ,s last as goal keeping coach. Its on his twitter page . Are we suprised . Has the keepers improved while he has been at the club . Loved him as a player . Not sure of coaching . Good luck big man in whatever you do

Missed that one. Has he been let go? And who replaces him?

Coyne was with Mellon at Shrewsbury, so it could make sense.

As for Eric, he is the best Rovers keeper of all time and I loved watching him thirty years ago. However, I was never convinced he was earning his money as a coach and his lack of professionalism pre-match was quite stunning at times.

Good luck to him in whatever he does next.

A younger coach might benefit our keepers. I also think that a fellow Welshman might help Luke Pilling fulfil his potential. He has certainly regressed a lot in the last two years.

Coyne has actually led Shrews to 2 wins from 2 games and they had a real feel good factor after Saturday when Ollie Norburn got the first brace of his career when they beat Rochdale.

Will be interesting if he fancies the managers job at the new meadow.

I did not even realise he was caretaker there. I think it is safe to say he would choose that job over goalkeeping coach at PP.

Norburn also scored against Salford last week.
