Ronnie Moore has dipped his toe into the loan market today, with the Tranmere boss signing Preston North End youngster Danny Mayor (pictured in action, left) on a month's loan transfer.
Mayor is a winger by trade and can play on either the left or the right flanks. The 18-year-old has impressed for the Lancashire club's reserve side this season and only signed his first professional contract with the Lilywhites last December.
He has now been given the opportunity to play first team football in League One. He joins hoping to take that opportunity with Tranmere hoping he can spark the push for the play offs and help the club's bid for promotion to the Championship.
He impressed Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore when he featured in Preston's reserve fixture with Rovers last week. The boss told the Tranmere official website: "I've watched Danny on several occasions, including our reserve game against Preston last week when he was outstanding."
"He's a hard working winger who can go past people and has a trick up his sleeve. I'd like to thank Preston manager Alan Irvine for allowing him to come to us for a month."
Welcome to Prenton Park Danny!
