Technical question re tablets

Maybe someone could answer me this.

Not really into gadgets. Thinking of buying Mrs DIW a tablet for Xmas. Main purpose for this would be a little bit of playing silly games and the ability to browse the web from anywhere in the house etc.

After reading reviews and taking into account various things such as budget thinking of plumping for the Kindle Fire HD. Now we already have a kindle e-reader. Does anyone know if you can re download kindle books already purchased on your amazon account to the new device?

Any further advice?

Cheers

simple answer: Yes!

longer answer: Yes you can, you simply register the new device on the same amazon account, and can redownload everything you have bought, free...

Why don't you just get a nexus 7 which is about the same price and isn't restricted in any way.

oh, in that case, get the nexus....its a full android device, not locked to amazons control, so you can use all the google apps. I thouhgt you were after the fire alone. Any android phone will work with the kindle app, to do the same as the fire, but the nexus is the best out there, both in terms of build quality as well as software
