I am looking forward to seeing the new signings against more realistic opposition, and it will be good to welcome Max back to Prenton Park.

Hope Max let's his lad wear his Rovers shirt!
The heat will help the lads shed a few more pounds.
As RLC says, Wigan are a team we can at least compete with and hopefully we'll see something of what the 'new' team is capable of.

No sign of Soukana in the squad. Maybe he’s been snapped up elsewhere after his couple of goals. Zoom starts with kai Tonga on the bench

Pilling in goal.

Surprised there aren’t one or two more triallists in the mix. No Scott Davies? Despite the good goal at Dunfermline Walker-Rice doesn’t make the bench.

We lost the game to a dodgy penalty, but that was a very good performance. Some of the football was excellent, a notch higher than we have been used to in recent years, and Norburn, Jennings, Cole, Banks and Smith looked very comfortable against that standard of opposition. Jennings looks much better played centrally just off Norwood, and Tollitt looked sharper than last season and set up the goal.

Zoum was very solid again and will surely be offered a contract.

The one concern was the lack of presence up front to support Norwood, with Mullin off the pace when he came on.

There is plenty of quality in that squad and we just need to get the striker situation sorted out.

I agree about Norburn. I thought he was the best player on the pitch and it is no wonder higher level clubs have been looking at him.

It sounds generally encouraging given Wigan two leagues ahead of us and looked a strong line-up for them.

Thought Mullin looked a reasonable signing, but a concern that he hasn’t started pre-season well. With Soukana no longer in the equation, we need to be looking at other options up front.

Sounded like a Banks error lead to their second goal?

Second impressions of Kai Tonge?

yess mullin looked of the pace but can only get better loads of time to improve good that the young keepers had there chance today pilling looks a great prospect he needs to start more games and be giving a chance .

Tonge was only on for about thirty minutes. He was not as impressive as against Liverpool but made a couple of very good runs.

Spellman is one of our youth players, not at the game today so no idea how he did.

I’m a bit surprised that Walker-Rice, who got some match time v Solihull last season and scored a great goal in the Dunfermline friendly hasn’t featured again.
