A typical league one mediocrity game. Cant see swindle doing anything decent this year.
Has to be winable but way we are going will be happy with a clean sheet and draw !

With current form, I'd be delighted to take anything from this game, especially after last seasons demolition. If we can keep it below 5, its an improvement :p

A ground where we have got a terrible record, with the 1993 play off in particular living long in the memory. Swindon are not as good as they were last season having lost a number of key players in the summer, but they still have an impressive home record: three wins and a draw from four matches.

However, we have to win some time, so hopefully we will pick up an unlikely three points.

Quite right RLC, that 1993 play-off travesty is still hard to swallow so let's hope for better luck this time and a quick reversal of our fortunes.

So what now, potentially the easiest game this month.....bottom of the League, one shot on target in 94 minutes and that by Atkinson. And Bradford, Leyton Orient, Rotherham and MK Dons still to come. 10 games played, 2 draws and 1 "flukey" win......5 points from 30! I really do think it is now time to ask the question......how much longer?

We deserved a point today. Swindon had more of the ball and more efforts on goal, but we had three or four good chances of our own but unfortunately our lack of composure with the final ball or finish cost us. Swindon are no better than us collectively or individually and we deserved something from the game, but we are understandably woefully short of confidence at the moment.

Tactically we got it spot on, playing a 4-5-1 and keeping a good shape. Hateley played in centre of midfield, Ridehalgh left midfield where he looked decent. Chris Atkinson had two good chances in the first half which he should have done better with, but looked the most likely of our players to score. Sodje did pretty well in the lone striker role. The back four did well and were untroubled for much of the game, but the penalty we gave away was very soft (McNulty I think, with a tackle from behind): a very frustrating way to lose the game.

I could not criticise our approach or the application of the players and I can't really see what we could have done differently to get a result today. But we desperately need a flukey goal or a decision to go our way to turn the tide and restore some confidence to the team.

So who was playing left-back and how did McNulty fare? Gather it was Hateley who conceded the penalty.

McNulty played left back and did ok. Ridehalgh was more impressive in the left midfield role.

Defensively we are much improved with Ridehalgh / Hateley / McNulty in the side and all the back four, including Danny Holmes, looked solid on Saturday.
