If it’s for financial reasons, then it makes the pre-season recruitment look even worse. MM had worked with Waring before and is likely to have played some part in his signing, giving him a 2 year deal suggests some confidence in his ability, as unlike Alabi, he’d no track record to speak of.

Is it confirmed Alabi is back training with us, seems to have been like the scarlet pimpernel of late. Is the Ebbsfleet deal totally dead? Would prefer to see Mangan, despite his total lack of form, or Kirby, despite a lack of game time, starting up front today.

Noorwood has missed 17 / 1 on 1 s in a row he will score the most important one of all in the 94th min at wembley when we beat wrexham 2-1 . thats my prediction

Kirby and ridehalgh start, Clarke apparently injured. Hope the changes don't affect us too much.

We certainly won’t be as ‘fluid’ with this starting XI. Could be a frustrating game.

wonder if the Clarke injury is a Coutinho-before-his-move style injury?

Think this might have the makings of a difficult afternoon, but hope I'm wrong.

Assume Norwood and Kirby up front, though Jennings could also start there. Dunn returns to the bench, but he and Mangan aren't obvious game changers. McNulty starts, hope he's fully fit.

Sounds like we’ve let them back into it after a good start, though Kirby and Norwood wasted good chances to extend the lead. Giving the ball away too much?

Great result for Dave Challinor. Five against us. Now five against Macc. I'm now worried they might be our most serious playoff contenders!

MM has got it right this afternoon on selection and substitutions. Shame about Wrexham. Otherwise perfect day.
