I like the idea of great players montage. That would mean we would have to choose who to include. And that would mean a great discussion thread while we sorted it out. Yeah, let's go for it!=D>

Nobody in the current squad. The banner "kiss of death" might strike again, in fact it would be guaranteed to. So my vote's for the 'greats' montage.

And yes I love the word 'montage' and Matt and Trey are to blame/thank for that.

Great players

How many do you want? Unless you want it to look like the cover of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, you'd better keep it down to 10 or 12.

Here's my list with reasons:

Dixie Dean - most famous ever player.
Harold Bell - most league appearances, all-time record consecutive games for any club.
Roy McFarland - England international, won Championship with Derby.
Steve Coppell - England international, FA Cup winner.
John King - involved as player or manager with almost every promotion, manager of Leyland DAF Cup winning team.
Ian Muir - all-time record goalscorer.
John Aldridge - most capped player while at Tranmere, manager of League Cup finalists.

We've all got our own personal favourites, but I think we should include just great players or one's who really made a difference to the club.

OK, then, you've got to include Mark Palios. At least he actually played for the first team!

Ronnie of course IS a past legend too... and I think that photo does make a great addition to the banner. I'm eagerly awaiting what appears in the remaining space.

My faith in the guy is such that I'm sure he'll be immune to any alleged curse of the banner.

I do agree NBDH, and as far as the immunity, let's hope so!

Really looking forward to seeing what happens against Coventry on Wednesday.
