Personally; wouldn't ever boo him, but find him quite frustrating and generally not very good at anything, so despite my best efforts i grumble about him being useless quite a lot. But really try not to.

Amplesou raises a valid point re: his boyfriend. Akins definitely played better away from home for the same reason, and it's something we need to be aware of. Debate and intellectualise till your heart's content before and after the game, but during that 90 minutes our job is to fully support whichever 11 tranmere players are on the pitch. Not always that easy though!

I agree that there is a decent player in McGurk as I think he has decent technique and a football brain.....unlike Stevenage legend. It shows you how strong the squad is now ref quality as last year I thought McGurk had the potential to be one of our better footballers...........injuries aside. Down pecking order now:-k

Amps is having a whip round to get a statue Akins erected on the car park. For a touch of realism the call will be in the Clipper car ark after the usual bad touch.

I haven't noticed McGurk getting that much stick. Akins might have prompted the odd groan, but I can't recollect him getting serious stick from the crowd, as he never went missing. Unsure that applies to Adam.

The player who has taken the biggest hammering from Rovers fans in recent years is Ash Taylor. Helped by Les taking him out of the firing line for a bit, Ash battled back and regained his confidence. Players with less backbone may have crumbled and moved on.

McGurk is certainly the whipping boy amongst the crowd, but I've never heard him get booed. Lots of moans and groans. He needs to really turn up at home. That's the only way the crowd will get off his back.

His biggest problem is that just when you think he might be turning a corner, he gets injured.

Where have we had this problem before ?....err his name escapes me! [-X

Akins did also come in for some criticism, but simply does not have the footballing ability or pace to play in the current Rovers side; his departure was no loss. His current employers, Stevenage, favour the kind of 'direct' approach we left behind with Les Parry. McGurk on the other hand, while not remotely in the same class as Robinson, is capable of peforming a role in this team.

I think Taylor was also hindered by being played in centre midfield for so long by Les, a position he is not really suited to. Being played out of position probably also had the effect of restricting his development as a centre back. Perhaps an example of the tactical naivety that held us back at times under Les.
