Ian Goodison... who else!
Obviously we're all waiting to see how the squad takes shape but I'm interested to hear how people think we'll do next season. After half a decade of relegation dog-fights and promotion battles I'd quite happily take mid-table safety! If we can make the play-offs I'd be chuffed.

Difficult one Gray. With the squad now, I’d say we’d do well to be mid table. If we make a couple of good signings, that could make all the difference and of course, will we keep our top goal scorer? Quite difficult to predict with all the comings and going’s but we have a good solid base to build from now and financial backing so I’d say we could make top eight.

I think I will vote in about three months' time. Very difficult to say at the moment.

I suppose Lincoln will have to be the blueprint. Cowley was quite ruthless with the restructuring of his squad. Both FGR and Cheltenham have struggled. I suspect we might see Ginnelly. MM is keen on players he has worked with before and is comfortable with.

I just don't know if Ginnelly is going to be consistent enough throughout the season. Remember, before the play-offs, he wasn't exactly pulling up trees.

Without wanting to be cynical, he knew he had to perform in those matches to get a contract, whether with us or someone watching on TV.

On balance, I'd give Ginnelly the benefit of the doubt since he's a young player and still learning but get the point. Another one where we may need to trust MM's judgement as to how he is developing and at what level he is capable of playing to. Then again we may not even get the opportunity to sign him.

Yes Durrell would be a very good signing, especially if Ginnelly doesn’t sign.

I think they will probably struggle now. They have got limited resources and Askey brought the best out of a group of players who, on paper, were not that great.

Yes, I think we'll have the last laugh now. I'd be amazed if we don't finish at least a few places above them.

Their gloating aside, I'd like Macc to stay up. Askey departing will be a major blow for them. Interesting to see who next.

I will be feeling more confident when we sign a good winger and a decent goalscorer or two to replace Cook and Mangan. Norwood plus one of the two striker loanees at the start of the season would not excite me!

I think perhaps the club should be cut a bit of slack. It is only 1st June and most players are still on their holidays.

I think we also have to accept that it wasn't known whether Rovers would be back in the FL until a month ago and the budget options vary significantly dependent on which league. Existing L2 clubs would have been ahead of us in that respect and some deals confirmed officially now might have already been in the pipeline. There's a way to go until pre-season, too early to start fretting.

I think also the reality is that it will be much harder for us to recruit quality players at this level. Only this week clubs have paid fees for players that we can probably only dream of.

Clubs like Notts County, Swindon and MK Plastics have bigger support bases than us (at present) and have been receiving EFL money for all the years we were in non-league. Financially we are probably some way behind them at the moment.

No matter what the club do in the transfer market it will never be enough for some supporters.

As RLC says, it’ll be difficult enough but they’ve got a real job on their hands replacing our top goal scorer. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how things pan out.

I don't think there's a world of a difference between the NL play off teams and the bottom half of L2.
FGR and Grimsby both made hard work of it last season but generally the NL promoted clubs have done ok recently (Lincoln, Brizzle, Cheltenham).
With Pools, Orient, Chesterfield, Shots, Barnet, Wrexham to name but a few the NL, in reality, is L3.
We'll do ok. I'll be disappointed if we don't make the play offs. For the first time in years we're going into a season on an upwards curve rather than a downward spiral.

We haven't seen yet how much money Micky has to strengthen the team. At the moment, we are weaker than last season, so I am hoping for at least five more new players joining us including two of real quality to improve the squad. If so, the play-offs is a real possibility and with four promotion places instead of two, repeating our recent success is not out of the question. Either way, a bottom half finish would be a real disappointment and show a loss of momentum and a lack of ambition. At this stage, my expectation is that we spend most of the season in the top half and a lot of it in or around the play-offs, but I'm not confident enough yet to be any more specific.
